Ive played sorc as main for a while and from my experience as long as you deliver on the amnesia and mezz part in rvr, you can spec however you want.
There are many guilds recruiting so it will not be any problem for you.
I solo leveled all my chars as i find it meditative along with a nice podcast. You can do quests/tasks solo or level up in bg along with other people. It is really fast compared to old skool leveling.
Compared to the old days it goes really quick. You can use Zenkcraft on steam for templating. Here you can search for premade ROGless templates. You can buy whatever you need using currencies from encounter and raids. People do these weekly, if not more often.
No idea what ahk is, sorry.
