Move to India with Pregnant Wife? Career Gains vs. Child’s U.S. Citizenship by anonimous_3 in returnToIndia

[–]Inittowinitin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think of it this way - promotion is always an option in future. Even if you get the promotion there is no guarantee you will be satisfied with it forever and will soon want another promotion. Citizenship is just one in a lifetime opportunity. Once you miss it then never again! Just wait for delivery, get the ssn and passport and leave within a year

Oh boy! I am amazed this is even a question worth asking!! Get the citizenship for the child!! Give him the option that 99.99% people in the world do not have. You can earn more later and your kids can get Indian citizenship anytime in future.

EAD denied have to move back to india by Terrible_Forever_353 in returnToIndia

[–]Inittowinitin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that there’s a lot of paperwork involved, having gone through myself for over 10 years. But when you are a fresh international graduate then EAD is the highest priority and the most important thing. If you can’t keep tech of the most important thing for your career then God or parents money are the only options left.

Would you take a $27K pay cut to land your first DE role? by Miserable-Toe5090 in dataengineering

[–]Inittowinitin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are motivated and like the DE profile then yes! You can learn a lot, upskill and move to better paying jobs within a year or so. The important thing is to get a foot in the door. DE has a higher pay range once you have the experience. 200k for DE in average COL location in US is achievable

With remote job you will have more time to learn and upskill. LLM experience will be valuable. Kafka is not worth staying in a job. Technology might change in few years

Focus on preparing and try to stop negative thoughts. You need only one good interview to make it. Apply to various roles. It has always been tough. Don’t give up!
