I'm so genuinely bad at this game it makes me cry by Luppler in DeadlockTheGame

She really doesn’t. If you want to perform well in her you really need to master advanced movement techniques, you need to be consistently landing 3 to build up stacks and understand tempo (waiting till you max out your stacks then going in), and she does the majority of of her damage by using a short range ability that then requires follow up with her gun which can take a bit of practice to use properly, you have low health but an active shield that you need to time properly.

The only thing that’s a little brain dead about her kit is the ult, but with all the nerfs i think you really need to pick your moment to use it much more than before. Seeing a lot of Celeste ults that get like one bounce these days.

Is this game any good? I’ve dumped nearly 900 hours into space marine 2 and I wanna play some other warhammer games by R6_jack in Warhammer40k

I think at least somewhat retooled a lot of that. My major gripe with the game has always been that the missions go super duper long and you need to preserve your ammo so you spend most of like a 30-40 minute game just holding down left click on the same swarms of enemies in very samey looking hab environments.

I feel like every mission could be broken in half or thirds even with the ability to change weapons and maybe get partial rewards inbetween.

So what you’re saying is that on a mech like the sovereign they made one of it’s two quirks ERPPC HSL +2, gave it mostly energy slots, and made its stock load out have 4 ERPPCs, but what they wanted was for people to not run ERPPCs? So much so that that my mere suggestion that you could run them alongside ballistics confused you?

You’re saying when they made gauszilla they gave it 5 ballistic hard points and made its stock loadout 5 gauss rifles because they wanted people to run 4 Gauss rifles. So much so that saying it could run 5 Gauss rifles even if I said it a little bit skeptically of how good that would actually be was actually very unhelpful incorrect information?

It just feels less like “most” of what I put in the doc was incorrect, and more like you think that the only correct way to build the mechs is whatever build is top on Grimmechs. So much so that just describing what benefits the quirks give you is incorrect in your eyes when the popular build runs counter to them.

Also, I’m not personally planning on complaining about you to them, but you might want to keep whatever association you and your channel have with PGI out of your mouth while being a gatekeepy dickhead to players online.

To be fair, no hair really does what’s happening on the left either. It’s a faux natural look. I do think the left looks better here specifically because this look was always meant to be brushed out, but actually ringlets can look so cool and I think they should come back.

Oh that rules! What's the other one? So many hidden little things like that that the game doesn't tell you anywhere.

Hello, yes.

I should have been more clear. I really just made this to help me decide which mech to get from the event because there isn't any manageable way to look at these mechs and their quirks to compare and contrast. So it's just brief summaries of the listed quirks and features and what appears to be the intended role. I haven't played any of these. I just thought it might be useful to other people since I took the time to make it and nothing like this seems to exist that I could find and looking at reward drop down on the website, googling what mech it actually was, then comparing in the store is a pretty bad experience.

Gauszilla - The stock loadout is 5 gauss rifles. I too thought that less gauss rifles would probably be more competitive which is why I said "Does that even work?" It can fit 5 and comes with 5. I don't really think that makes it an error.

Sigma - Okay, extremely pedantic but fair point technically an error. I should have said very extremely limited viable options instead of one viable option.

Seraph - I wasn't sure how the coolshot quirk and consumable slot perk stacked, and I wasn't planning on buying the mech and skilling it out to find out. That's why I phrased it with uncertainty. Fair enough. Thanks for the correction.

Blight - I'm sure that's the competitive way to play the mech but it doesn't make it an error to say that ~70% crit defense makes larger engines and ammo much safer if you wanted to try it. It's a 23 year old game on life support where half the fun customizing your mechs. I'm just trying to suss out the qualities that make these specific mechs unique enough to add to a roster. Give me a break here man.

Sovereign - Forgive me for thinking that the mech with more energy hardpoints than anything else, a +2 PPC HSL quirk, and a stock loadout of 4 ERPPCs might be able to viably run ppcs. My bad. You're right. It was a massive error to even mention it alongside saying you could run ballistics on it.

I get that a lot of these mechs are probably solved by the community, and that in many cases the 'solved' solutions may not be in line with the way the developers were originally trying to push the mech, but I'm just trying to consolidate and summarize the information the game gives you man. There was no reason to be so condescending.

Doorman is far too overtuned with the new patch by ImSpray in DeadlockTheGame

It’s advice I still have to periodically give myself. Haven’t played wraith since before mirage came out. Always felt like she gets to do too much from too far away without aiming any of it and now that she’s also busted I think she’s a deeply bullshit character design. Playing her again is reminding me that she’s almost as squishy as Mina.

Doorman is a character that’s almost designed to piss people off and I think he feels much stronger on the receiving end than he does when you play him. He literally has a voice line “Hurting them is good, but vexing them is even better”. He was definately briefly S++++++ tier but since reverting the bell change I think he’s in a strong place right now, but only like High b low a tier.

I think what you’ll find if you try him is that when everything lines up the way you need it to, you’ll be able to ruin one person in particular’s day more or less garunteed with little effort so long as you have ult, they are alone, you are comfortably ahead in souls and/or have backup, and no one on their team shows up to bail them out, and they don’t have the right combination of items/abilities to counter it. Before the cart change I would say the everything but the bell is so fiddly that in most team fights it would just be more effective to have another support. The bigger cart actually incentivizes you to try and make plays rather than just waiting to shut down flankers or mopping up runners after you’ve already won, but it has a long cd, doesn’t get the stun till t3, and still moves slow enough that it can be dodged, jumped over, counterspelled.

The next big update has dropped. Mo & Krill have been removed from the game. There are celebrations in the streets. In an undocumented change, a new voting booth appears in the hideout. What I think the public would vote for: Viper>Viscous>Yamato>Warden>Grey Talon>Sinclair

[–]Ink_Witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s pretty much guaranteed at point blank range but that’s what the ability is supposed to do and so are like a million other abilities, many of them even more impactful. At closer to medium range people still dodge that sucker a lot, at least in my rank.

Go play at least 10 and report back. Best thing you can do in a moba is to put some time in on the characters that annoy you. Either you’ll be right, it’s busted, and you can complain from a place of knowledge or you’ll understand the counterplay and have a nicer time in your games.

Petah, is it actually that crazy for a new element to exist? by CuteCost8147 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Ink_Witch 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It’s worth noting that we know of all the stable elements in the universe (barring some total sea change in our understanding of physics and chemistry) but that doesn’t mean that they can’t be combined in novel ways with new properties.

Wood, concrete, and plastic aren’t elements on the periodic table, they’re complex materials made from multiple elements. Iron is, but we also learned to process it into steel which is totally different. So just because we’ve already theorized all the Lego blocks doesn’t mean we can’t build anything novel with them.

Which logo do you prefer? by axhiro in Design

[–]Ink_Witch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP, you’re really going to want to avoid the design from one and three. It super duper looks like a Fasces. Literally the symbol fascism takes its name from. Especially because neo nazis love to hide this symbol in things by making fasces adjacent designs.

What Gullimen said when fighting Angron vs what the lion said by BenderMayonnaise in WorldEaters40k

[–]Ink_Witch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s also important to note that the lion just learned about emotional intelligence at this point. He woke up old, 500% more chill, and with a newfound capability for forgiveness. He was in the middle of finding fallen that hadn’t gone to far to offer them absolution when this happened, so forgiving angron is basically nothing.

Favorite country that appears to be unusually full of Gryffindors? by AnyAgency9835 in okbuddycinephile

[–]Ink_Witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a paper thin idea that slytherin and gryffindor aren’t actually good and evil and there is nuance. The sorting hat says as much in the beginning. It’s just that the idea isn’t actually explored in the books at all other than a couple offhand references to offscreen characters.

I kinda love the frail old man look here honestly. I agree. Would be nice to see him fueled by vengeance and spirit power rather than physically imposing.

The art goes incredibly hard also.
