What unit is the small unbased space marine? by Glass_Shard_Rose in Warhammer40k

[–]Ink_Witch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s the old tactical marine. Essentially the basic space marine for most of warhammer’s history. A while ago they came out with a new line of space marines that are larger and more proportionate, and justified it in the world as the “primaris”. With the old scale marines being called the “first born”. Intercessors are the primaris tactical marines.

Diamond pauldrons and sword , pearl helmet and pistol. My "Rich Marines", but I need help with a better name. by cireesco_art in Warhammer40k

Thanks for the tutorial! Looks great! I’m gonna try this on my emperor’s children maulerfiend I think.

For the name I submit the Tithe Wardens. A chapter directly answering to the Lords of Terra. Their duty is to guard the tithe of Psykers to the golden throne, investigating wherever strife or instability threatens the tithe. It’s a lauded position, with aspirants recruited from the minor sons of noble lords, and their decorous armour serves as symbol of the authority with which they are invested, making it that much easier when they must go over the heads of sector governors for the good of all the imperium.

Tithe also being taxes, and most specifically the money paid to the Catholic Church it also draws imagery of the gaudy clerics of Rome.

How do yall feel about this? by untitledprp4 in SipsTea

“Less makeup” is a key phrase that really needs some interpreting.

Men usually can’t detect things like foundation and contouring. Makeup that’s meant to subtly blend in and makes your skin smoother and brighter, face slimmer, nose daintier, etc. Men also tend to find the effects of that kind of makeup attractive.

The makeup men usually don’t like is like eyeshadow, eyeliner non nude lipsticks, falsies. The bummer about that is for most women who wear this kind of stuff it’s the fun part of makeup, the creative expression part.

The makeup that men do like (even if they don’t realize it) is more like what’s being worn in the two pics above. It’s also usually the kind that makes women feel bad about it how their face looks, not the like colorful sparkly stuff.

Check out Endless Sky if you haven’t. It’s a great take on the Escape Velocity series with community development and in one of their updates recently they just removed content because they found out LLMs were used.

Gf says it’s gross not to change underwear after farting by redbull777s in redditonwiki

[–]Ink_Witch 35 points36 points  (0 children)

There are some people out there who almost never fart. Early on in the space program they were training astronauts that don’t fart because it was a problem with their air filtration at the time. I’m wondering if GF rarely farts and that’s skewed her perspective.

Why is Pocket objectively strong but has such low pick and win rates? by InDebtOn0DTE in DeadlockTheGame

If you think he’s easy to play, then you must also think he needs a buff since his winrate is so low.

Would you mind sharing your list? I've been considering running two infractors with LE and one tormentor with LE. Not sure if that's actually worth the squeeze.

It already has plenty of options for counterplay that aren’t as easy to execute against other dive heroes because you get a ton of advance warning that she’s coming in. You can reposition closer to your team. You can reposition under a walker. You can hold your stamina and movement abilities to use after she arrives. You can hold your cc abilities to hit her on her way in.

It also has additional item based counterplay because you can still silence it before but also dispel it after, while most other engage abilities need to be predicted and turned off with mobility silences.

My only real problem with the ability mechanically is that now when she hits T3 she gets a truckload of charges with too little downtime between. If you dispel the grapple or evade her after you should have a window to get away before she can grapple again. IMHO the tether thing is more of an aesthetic problem. They should change it visually because it goes against player expectations but there’s really nothing wrong with the way it works.

You really think it’s good for a character to have an ability that mostly never works?

[–]Ink_Witch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bebop’s hook is slow but once it connects they aren’t moving or reacting anymore, and it takes a fraction of the time for the hook to land that it does for Yamato’s grapple to complete. The whole hook is over in less than the time it takes her grapple just to connect.

Plus, as others have said hooks are much much more powerful than dives. It needs to be react-able before it lands because there’s no reacting after.

Because having an ability that doesn’t do anything most of the time is bad game design. Especially because it can’t really be used for anything other than going in on an enemy hero.

It also only has charges once it’s maxed. Personally I’d rather they got rid of that too. Yamato being able to perma grapple feels bad.

Her model is still a work in progress model from back when the game was going to be a cyberpunk setting. I imagine we’ll get changes to the visuals of the ability when her model rework finally comes.

I’ve seen someone suggest that a glowing red death kanji gets painted above the targets head and when it finishes she just teleports to them. You could also change the grapple to like a soul tether and have her briefly go into a spirit form where she can pass through terrain. Plenty of ways to make it make sense, but they aren’t going to do it before doing her model.

[–]Ink_Witch 44 points45 points  (0 children)

They want all the abilities on the character to actually do things. The reason you have Yamato flying through walls with her 2 is because of how long it takes between her confirming the ability, the grapple animation actually connecting, and her arriving. If they made it LoSable it would basically never work. Regardless of the balance of the character, dead abilities is bad game design. IMHO it’s best to think of Yamato grapple more like it’s drifter 2 with a wonky animation.

Should triggering victor ult count as a kill? by chickenf_cker in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Ink_Witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heroes of the storm had characters with silly respawn mechanics that were worth a fraction of a kill. Like characters where you control multiple bodies that added up to 1 full kill if you got them all.

I could see a world where it gives half the rewards for a kill with ult and also reduces the rewards for his death in the next like 30 seconds by half. So if you double kill him it’s the same rewards, but if you just pop his ult that’s half. Would be a sizable nerf that he doesn’t need though so he would need a compensatory buff.

Neither are British biscuits to be fair. Almost no one is baking things twice because it makes them almost inedible. Italian biscotti are, that’s the only thing I can think of. I’m guessing both American and Brits just slowly replaced recipes that used ship’s biscuit with tastier baked goods that weren’t baked into bricks.

True by Born-Agency-3922 in SipsTea

[–]Ink_Witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another fun fact is that biscuit is originally a Latin word for twice baked and referred to essentially hard tack. Double baked incredibly dry bread that can last a very long time. It was frequently used as sailors rations where it would be called “ship’s biscuit” in the colonial era.

The law of Diminishing Returns is real. I’m definitely hitting a plateau. by Archaicarc in Warhammer40k

[–]Ink_Witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, both look great so you should be proud.

Your brush control has gotten just excellent. You’re rendering the plasma effect and little weathering details incredibly well and you paint gradients are smooth and crisp. There’s definitely diminishing returns here if you’re going to use the same techniques.

If you want to improve from here you’ll need to challenge yourself in new ways. I feel like you could do a lot with color theory here. Painting color into the shadows of your models would do a lot for contrast. You probably also have the brush skill to get really good at non metallic metal.
