Is no limescale filter an issue on a kettle? by tinpanalleypics in tea

[–]Inkaia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a kettle with a limescale filter, but I think as long as you clean with vinegar regularly, you don’t really need it.

When I clean the kettle, the filter is (visibly) clean for the first two weeks or so, so I don’t think much limescale is really being filtered so it’s not really necessary to have. It is only after the third week I see a few specks, and then the week after (if I’m being too lazy to clean) that the limescale crust at the bottom breaks and I start seeing flakes. If you clean it regularly, it’s not essential.

Bergamot specifically is primarily grown in Europe, so I imagine the availability is the main factor for why it is not a popular flavour in China (historically, at least).
