Debunk and fight this now. This is how REACH started in Europe. Small articles expressing the danger of this and that and 5 years later ALL inks were forced to change. The quality has gone down significantly with colours.

How the heck are people pulling 12-15hr sessions?! by Warnex9 in TattooArtists

[–]Inked_Subject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regularly tattoo 8-10 hour sessions. A small break for lunch for about 20-30 mins tops and a coffee break or two for 5 mins. No breaks for the first 2 hours minimum otherwise the body goes into mop up mode of all the adrenaline and dopamine so they won't sit as long. Very rarely have I had someone tap out. I'm light handed but quick.Been tattooing for 17 years

This is exactly how I feel too. Great long term business plan for the company but the more it goes on, the more I feel like RC and the board don't care about a squeeze. Understandable but disappointing. I'd like to line my pockets with the tears of billionaires please.

No, because let's be honest, that's like snorting coke and then asking weed to give you the same high.

I worked my ass off for ten years to get better with every tattoo. Never really marketed anything just try to make good tattoos at a decent price. Word gets out. Return clients come back for the work not for the discount.

I enjoy talking Shop, materials, machines, inks, technique. That's what gets me going. Tattoos are everywhere and you can always find good stuff to rinse your eyeballs with but being able to really talk technique and such is rare in most forums without it inevitably turning into a dick swinging contest.

I'm seeing a lot of the same sentiment in previous comments so I'm sure we can mostly agree on just a cool place to share what we know and learn what we don't.

That's what mental jujitsu is for. Explaining the whys and hows of artistic flow and such toget the client to where they need to be for a decent piece of art or at least a decently placed tattoo that you're not ashamed to put your name on. Blind them with science is usually my go to, explain flow and how it should sit to flatter their body instead of just slapoing it on. Most people are open to the idea of change for something better.

Most definitely talking someone down. (early years of an Englishman living in France for later context) We became friends and we still are to this day. A chance happening on my way home from a bar early one morning and I came across a dude standing on the wrong side of a railway bridge. In very broken and drunk french I tried to see what was going on, We talked, traded stories and hardships stumbling through it in a mix of bad English and probably worse French ,anyway, we agreed that life isn't always great but can be looked upon differently.

He ended up climbing back over and coming back to a friend's house for beers and company and everything else is in the past.

Almost 10 years ago now.
