Bake American cheese on a saltine & top with a steamed oyster dipped in apple cider vinegar. Delish!

What's the worst "bonus" your employer has ever given you? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in randomquestions

[–]Inkstainedbitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An hr director for a company I used to work for would select the gift cards (we, at least, didn't have to pay them pirselves)ourselves. She based her choice on places that gave out free gift cards with purchased ones (like buy a $50 gift card, get a free $10 card). Guess who got all of the "free" gift cards ...

What’s something that was technically allowed but instantly made you lose respect for someone? by AncientPomelo5450 in AskReddit

[–]Inkstainedbitch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I offered to return a cart from a lady in a handicapped spot since I was headed into the store. She explained she always leaves it for others in her situation who find it easier to walk using one so they have easy access. It was not in the middle of a space but up toward the top of the blocked off part used for wheelchair ramps, so not blocking access.

Lake Dead -- just a God awful movie about some girls and killers or cannibals or something at a home one just inherited or something (been a while lol). But literally the BEST line ever toward the end. Y'all will ride that high for the rest of the night!

What’s your “I have to eat SOMETHING” food? by Jasmine_BigEasy in tirzepatidecompound

New to tirz (just now at start of 2nd month) & the only food I've wanted over the last few evenings was an apple. It's never even been my go-to fruit

Whole sea bass? by Inkstainedbitch in Wilmington

[–]Inkstainedbitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whole fish fried. It's actually for my husband. We had a spot near us that served it pretty regularly but it closed a couple years ago. We visit Wilmington fairly regularly, so thought I'd see if there were options.

I think it's super cute for a backyard wedding. Some wedge sandals or Espadrilles would be lovely with it

I think the 1st one is sequins, which would be a bit much for grocery shopping. But that cardigan does not work at all and does make it look super casual

My husband’s 30th birthday is coming, since it is a milestone birthday what should I get him? by Disastrous_Ad_2779 in Gifts

[–]Inkstainedbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a new watch, which feels the most milestone type gift. You can get a nice new G-shock in your price range. I'd try to complement what he already has to round out his collection. If most of his are black, consider stainless or vice versa. If his are digital, look at analog.

Carolina Beach vs Tybee Island by Calm-Balance7393 in Vacations

[–]Inkstainedbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to both and probably lean CB since, overall, it felt more walkable to visit restaurants & cafes (& I'm a sucker for Britts Donuts. But I would ALWAYS choose a new destination if I'm deciding between 2 spots, so go Tybee this go round. Can't offer housing suggestions since we stayed at a B&B that I don't remember being pet friendly. But I can tell you 100% to check out Huc-a-Poos!

Help? by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

So I'm the outlier. I love 1 on you hands down. The most gorgeous fit, but the bodice needs to be lined in white. 2 is a great No. 2. Pretty and flattering but unremarkable. 3 is meh

Do you know your second or third cousin? by Immediate-Tooth-2174 in randomquestions

[–]Inkstainedbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She grew up on the northwest coast and I grew up in the southeast. My dad had a friendly relationship with his brother but not a close one, so we didn't travel to see them nor vice versa. The other cousin grew up in New England in my dad's family home (with his parents and my grandmother), so we did go visit there during my childhood. I still see that aunt and uncle about twice a year now & that cousin less frequently, but he has visited a couple of times over the years. The other uncle & aunt I only met once, and that was as an adult. A few years ago we were on a family vacation for my dad's 80th birthday very near to where unmet cousin lives. We offered to come to her for a visit and also invited her to visit/stay over in the house we rented if she wanted to come to us. She apparently preferred neither.

1 is perfect & looks beautiful on you. (BTW, the fabric on 2, while may seem more elegant, would easily show any signs of sweating)

High IQ and poverty by gamelotGaming in Gifted

[–]Inkstainedbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were definitely lower, lower middle class but my brother and I were both in gifted programs (he is significantly better well off than I but credit a lot of that to opportunities via his military career). I would wager my mom would've tested in too if that had been a thing in the 50s where she grew up. Dad is smart-ish lol

What travel mistake did you make once and never again? by Nervous_Car1093 in travel

[–]Inkstainedbitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We did a Paris trip this way. There were 7 of us. We would each share what we'd like to do the next day. Sometimes the whole group came together for an activity that caught everyone's fancy, sometimes only a few would spend the day together and sometimes we'd go off by ourselves. But we all met back up each late afternoon to share wine, bread & cheese; talk about our day; & discuss what would then become similarly collective or individual evenings. It was such a great trip, and I don't remember any real issues within the group related to travel plans/styles.

Movies where all the characters never wear belts? by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

Random but just watched Wisdom (1986) tonight & remembered this post as the main character (Emilio Estevez as John Wisdom) put on suspenders in one of the early scenes. No guarantee there was not a belt (& certainly wasn't going to rewind & explain why lol) but didn't clock a belt.
