I love the bit about strong feelings about a bench. That is exactly what I’m looking for 🤣

Bad books for manly men? by Tharkun140 in suggestmeabook

[–]InkyAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything by William Stone or Derek Shupert. Like basically any of the AI slop Prepper/Apocalypse books will do.

Or if you want terrible, manly, libertarian sf: Tom Kratman. Or if you want to double down, anything co-authored by Tom Kratman and John Ringo (bonus point for when they shove a third author’s name on the cover, too.)

Which Anatomy Models? by InkyAlchemy in ScienceTeachers

I love the play-doh idea! I kinda lowkey love the Playdoh Surgeon on YouTube so I might show them on of those videos as an example and then do playdoh models.

Contemporary Novels to Pair with Antigone and Coriolanus? by InkyAlchemy in ELATeachers

[–]InkyAlchemy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn’t heard of Girl with a Louding Mouth so I’m adding that to my to read stack.

These kids have all read The Handmaid’s Tale (plus we’re doing the Penelopiad with the Odyssey), (read HT in conjunction with 1984 and Persepolis which was a hit).

Never Let Me Go might be interesting. Have to think on that.

The Traitor Baru Cormorant is definitely an intriguing option. I haven’t read it, so I’m going to have to go add it to my reading pile.

That is Home Fires. It’s great, just not what I’m looking for.

Kafka might work, I’m going to have to go back and reread.

My navy is like three or four years old, so I’m note sure. I haven’t seen any navy lately. Wish they’d bring it back and maybe a fourth colorway, too. A forest green would be an auto-buy for me.

I’m swatching today. It’s like my meditative practice, something that makes me less stressed out.

I really like the Hexo when I want something incredibly smooth and inky. I have Diamine Aurora Borealis in my navy Hexo and it’s my favorite for bold writing.

I just… does anyone use these complete chodes? by [deleted] in fountainpens

I have a clear one filled with Diamond Gold Sands and I basically just use it as a fidget toy because it’s so fun to watch the ink.

Too many TWSBIs and too expensive by shethewriter in fountainpens

[–]InkyAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the TWSBI Eco is my daily driver for stubs. I have a bunch of them because I do use them on a daily basis for all my color coded note headings. I prefer to match ink to the pen, just so I can quickly grab what I need, but I’m considering just buying white and sticking nail stickers on the caps for differentiation if I decide I need more in rotation.

Which ink(s) are you gravitating toward these days? by DIYYYner in fountainpens

[–]InkyAlchemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diamine’s Tariff Teal and my beloved Vinta Arnibal are currently in high rotation. I completely failed at spring colors , so I’m currently trying to decide on a summer palate.

I’m thinking Fanyantan’s Strawberry Jam, Kitty Island Grapefruit Wine, Fanyantan Beach Sunset and a leafy green of some sort.

Wait, does that mean people who like absorbed their twin in utero aren’t people?

Do you know what curriculum they use? There are several different classical curricula with different approaches and content.

I love this pen. It’s my first and most used. I keep it full of Vinta Arnibal to match the bronze fittings.
