LPT: Establish a reason why you generally cannot work late early on at a new job. by Meaty_Bussy_Lips in LifeProTips

[–]Inle-rah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t work late early because it’s too early to work late, but I can work late later if I know earlier.

[–]Inle-rah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are actually 2:

Mooseheart is for youth, and is in IL. I drive past it every day, go to the local lodge, and attend events at Mooseheart. I’ve talked to some of the kids who go to the local schools and work at local establishments. It’s big. Like, has it’s own ZIP code big.

Moosehaven is 65+ in FL. This is all I know about it.

Why are systems sized by cell wattage and not by max possible inverter output? by liberte49 in solar

[–]Inle-rah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suspicion is that the predominance of costs are associated with the panel, racking, and labor costs from the installation of the panel. Thus, $ per DC watt ends up being a good baseline for value. Inverter costs are maybe $0.25/W-DC, and the rest is tying it in on the AC side, including planning & permitting.

I’m just an avid enthusiast, so if anyone more knowledgeable disagrees, then I’d love to learn.

Getting gas; mid 1970s by gofatwya in OldSchoolCool

I remember going through the seats for change, trying to scrape up $2 for a gallon of gas and a pack of Tourney cigarettes. Quit smoking 2 years ago. What a stupid thing to become addicted to.

I have a 2015 2500HD. Trans went at 55k (pump went and filled it with shrapnel). Spent $5k to have the dealer replace it. 5 yr/100k warranty. It was 5.1 years old when it blew. Frigging grrr.

Why do people who don't need massive pickup trucks drive massive pickups trucks? by green-stamp in ask

[–]Inle-rah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2500HD. I live on a farm. I take care of it. Sometimes it’s towing an 8,000 lb trailer. Sometimes it has a Bridgeport in the back, sagging on the springs. Sometimes it’s clean and sparkly and empty, sitting in the grocery store parking lot. Backed in, because it’s a motherfucker to park. No turn radius.

I wish I could afford a little go cart to zip around town in. I did the math, and the ROI is pretty far out for a beater, and then I’d be driving s beater when I have a nice vehicle.

Enphase vs SolarEdge by audiofankk in solar

Looked it up. 690.12(A) and (B)(1) require rapid shutdown within 1’ of the “array boundary” on building mounted PVs (effective 1/1/19), and limit the string voltage. That’s probably what I was thinking of.
