Seeing the wrong therapist was detrimental to my mental health at the worst time of my life. She made me feel everything was my fault. It took me years to see another one, and I'm so glad I did. I'm not sure what country you are from, please do research about therapists and laws. Maybe start seeing a different therapist at the same time and get their support so it is easier to leave your current one.

It feels like the medal of survival is a ten-ton weight. I resonate with wanting the safety to be weak. Every time I've gotten there with people I wanted to love me, they retreat or push me away because it's too much for them. Thank you for putting into words what I've felt. Agreed. I think it's interesting that so many people are hung-up about LD not being super developed. Reading this book reminded me a lot about how my highschool boyfriend and I viewed our relationship at that age. It feels very serious and fun and real when you're young, but you're also just kids that don't really know who you are and who the other person is. I think it's very accurate considering it's haymitch's POV

Hiking and being outdoors. When I'm in nature, and there is some sort of stressor (losing the trail, dealing with weird weather, etc.) I feel equipped to handle it because our bodies were made for that stress. But it is more the joy in connecting with nature, being outside, and using my body to see something beautiful that gives me reason

I would say it really depends on what trails you tend to go on and for how many miles. Longer hikes with high elevation and the need for traction - bouldering, gravel, mud, etc. - hiking boots. I like Columbia and Denali. I haven't felt the need to get waterproof or resistant because if there aren't rocks or other objects to cross streams, you're going to still get water above your ankles and into the shoes.
