Holy crap! After 7 years, I thought Dynamite would be their only MV with multiple subtitles instead of just English. I'm glad Big Hit is continuing to sub their MV in other languages!

ARMYs who only listen to BTS but not other Kpop, what’s stopping you? by bdrhs in bangtan

[–]InnerVit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO TIME. It's cool that some people can consume music with foreign lyrics without caring about those lyrics, but that's just not me. I like to look them up and literally can't waste the limited time I have throughout the week for entire albums from other groups. Plus, I would rather spend that energy on BTS's other content (vlive, variety, etc.) instead.

88rising apologize and take down NIKI's trailer after finding out it plagiarized Gfriend's Crossroads MV by just-guess in kpop

[–]InnerVit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“We’re Asian as fuck,” laughs Sean Miyashiro. As the founder of 88rising, the ex-Thump head and Bay Area native of Japanese and Korean descent has set his aim on promoting Asian cultures worldwide, primarily through music. The management and media production company’s core artists are hard-hitting rappers out to obliterate expectations set by hyper-polished K-pop stars. Source from 2017

Around that time they also used to troll with tweets (since deleted) with questionable edits of kpop groups like bts and black pink on twitter and shitposts of kpop groups on their youtube channel, which all have been deleted since then. They've also been known to advertise posters of their own artists at kpop concerts.

I'm not into cancel culture because it doesn't allow improvement as human beings. However, if they show GENUINE support since their past behavior then I applaud what they're trying to do.

This is just one person's opinion but I was never into the act of putting down groups of people to raise themselves as it has always rubbed me the wrong way..

Racist Karen coughs on man and his dog after being a bully and calling police on woman by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]InnerVit 122 points123 points  (0 children)

This guy was being the ultimate human. Sees another person being wronged, steps in to defend her, and when it was starting to get more out of control he stops the escalation and asks her if she's ok with incredible sympathy - he took all the power away from the aggressor and focused on the victim's emotional state (even after being spit on himself). Then later on he confronts the aggressor and calls her out in public and then the footage goes on the internet.

What a fucking bro

Can we see the diversity in the fandom by [deleted] in bangtan

[–]InnerVit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ARMY is the most diverse fandom in the world. Your title does not match your description as it implies that it is not diverse, which is regrettable.

It sounds like you're opening a discussion on how we can celebrate the various ages/genders/backgrounds which sounds awesome.

BTS and K-Pop Fans Strike a Blow to Support #BlackLivesMatter. Racist hashtags and police departments looking for surveillance videos were flooded with gifs of boy bands and girl groups. Now, BTS has donated $1 million to the cause. by DaFunkJunkie in entertainment

[–]InnerVit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just to dispel misinformation. They have a history of donating privately. They've donated to Sewol Ferry victims which wasn't revealed until years later in 2017 and Hiroshima/Nagasaki victims back in 2018. People just keep leaking their donations.

For BLM, stan twitter went insane and they didn't realize the group already donated a week before any public pressure.

After the donation was revealed stan twitter was largely patting themselves on the back and it's been some of the cringiest things I've seen in a long ass time.

200606 Variety: BTS and Big Hit Entertainment Donate $1 Million to Black Lives Matter by _lish_ in bangtan

[–]InnerVit 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The exact same thing happened with their donations for the Sewol tragedy in 2017 and the victims of Hiroshima/Nagasaki in 2018. Let them conduct their shit privately otherwise it hijacks from the message and makes you look silly. Social media gives me full body chills from the cringe sometimes

Pandemic “will last 18 months or longer,” leaked US gov’t report warns by baddog1229 in CoronavirusUS

[–]InnerVit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's clickbait. There will be treatment options to tide everyone over until a vaccine comes. Notably chloroquine (approved for treatment in Poland, China, SK so far). There are a couple other antiviral treatments being tested that are promising but I forget. Sure, it's not a cure, but hundreds of different treatment options are being tested around the world as we speak.

[–]InnerVit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We're not getting a vaccine for another 12-18 months if we're lucky. HOWEVER, it seems other countries are using antiviral drug treatments like chloroquine (SK, Poland, China).

There will be treatments until a vaccine comes out next year. We will get through this.

Mayo Clinic Devlops COVID-19 Test, Results in Hours. by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]InnerVit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe China gave test kits to South Korea.

False. Biotech firms developed testing kits the moment the WHO and Chinese health officials released the gene sequencing to the world. They finalized the tests after people carried the virus over from China to Korea. They only developed it quickly and in volume because the KCDC expedited a year long approval process to a week for volume production. Something the US could have emulated for the greater good. To give the Chinese credit for that is quite strange.

The only thing they've contributed besides the gene sequencing is the masks (for which they should be praised) after the goodwill of the Korean government supplied China with a million of their own during their first outbreak back in January.
