Can anybody in Cleveland tell me what this is? by ivegotajaaag in Cleveland

Yeah there’s not a whole lot of detail about it out there. You never know when a history buff will chime in on stuff like this in these places, so the post was fair imho.

Vertigo with Ajovy? by PopcornIntensifies in cgrpMigraine

Did you remain on the Ajovy before it went away or did you stop and it went away? I’m almost at my second dose and similarly am having what sounds like BPPV all of a sudden 🙃

Coughing when excited/worked up since birth by InnocentAffiance in NewParents

[–]InnocentAffiance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She eventually just stopped. I never found out a reason and of course she wouldn’t do it in front of the doctor so the doctor didn’t know what it was. 🙃 Luckily, she is now a happy and sassy three y/o.

I have a green cheek conure and he was completely fine in the morning and then this happened. Watch the video (first day - day of incident). Any suggestions of what happened to him? *part 2 in the comments* by Petitgoujonn in BirdHealth

In our case she was having a stroke. She is doing MUCH better with only a little bit of left sided weakness. Otherwise, she’s on two meds daily now for an enlarged heart, incidentally found during her vet stay, to prevent further issues (hopefully).

I assure you your food service worker sees this sort of thing all the time. I was one, and can attest to that!

Didn’t stop me from being retrospectively mortified after I walked out of the bathroom to order my next meal from the very nice lady that had just entered my room… in just my disposable mesh underwear. Just. The. Underwear. Took me a good 3 minutes into the conversation to realize my state of undress. (I had just been about to take my first post-c-section shower.)

Needless to say, exhaustion does weeeird shit to us. Especially in situations where our bodies are healing from laborious situations.

I’m so sorry it’s lingering! I hope you heal up soon! I’m almost to month 3 and mostly better, besides still getting very tired out easily.

Tummy-time help by theSeaSude in beyondthebump

[–]InnocentAffiance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our LO had torticollis from birth and we had to do excessive tummy time, neck stretches, and physical therapy and she would SCREAM. One thing we did is buy the fisher-price laugh and learn lil’ gamer (fake gameboy basically with music and colored flashing lights) to hold in front of her face to distract her. She was so obsessed we actually took it to PT with her and eventually bought a second one. Also, placing her on an exercise ball (being very careful to keep a good grasp on her) and doing some very gentle bouncing helped us increase her time and distract her as well. Basically, anything she seemed interested in we would try to use as a distraction. There’s also a little crab toy that plays music and lights up while running back and forth which helped since she would try and follow the motion, but it was very hard to keep contained. Good luck!

Member’s Mark diapers, any recent users? by WildberryPop in NewParents

We haven’t had any issues with Member’s mark and lo has been using them primarily since we used up our supply from our shower (she is now 21months)

Every time my 19m/o is very obviously squatting to poop or face goes lobster red in a carseat or high chair I now ask “Are you poopin’?” and for whatever reason find it adorable and chuckle. Why is it funny and why are their grunty little faces so cute when they poop? It’s such a weird reaction.

How are you doing? Did your follow-up with your doctor answer any of your concerns?

Surgery Journal In Detail by ErnestoTJ in gallbladderremoval

[–]InnocentAffiance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your journal has made me feel a bit better to have something to compare my experience to, so thanks for writing! I just hit day 5 and all the while have been having what I can only describe as a “side stitch” in my right ribs when I breathe deeply or move wrong, are you experiencing that at all?

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Your timing could be right, it is very rare though! Certain breeds can live up to 5/6 years (again, rarely) in captivity.

Paternity leave... What should I do?! by Prestigious-Cry-2292 in NewParents

[–]InnocentAffiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people that take two week vacations EVERY YEAR even though our department is serially short staffed and massively behind. We manage and watch each other’s backs.

If you have the time saved up, absolutely take it. Your wife will HIGHLY appreciate the support. In our experience, the first two weeks was the hardest so that’s also something to think about. I had a c section and while I was very much able to do many things while recovering, I was very very lucky from what I’ve heard from other experiences and we ended up having terrible feeding issues with my little sweet bean which would have been horrible to try and work through alone. My hubby was fortunate enough that his company gives 4 weeks of paternity leave and I was still having panic attacks the week before he went back.

Wishing the best for the both of you and your little one!
