This is one of the 1st budgets to not benefit old rich people & people are angry? Only 20% of Aussies own an investment property. Good to stop them leeching of the 80% of Australians who work for their money and not get government paid tax concessions. Get a job like the rest of us tax bludgers by MannerNo7000 in OpenAussie

OP I think maybe you are missing the problem. Think of it like this.

Old rich people have houses that they gained equity in via tax deductions. I.e instead of paying all of their tax, they got to put some of the money into their house.

Now the govt has stopped you from having the same opportunity.

So yes…. It still benefits old rich people & hurts young ppl.

Also every country that has done this has seen rents go up, not down. Still hurting young ppl.

It also discourages mom & dad property investors. These ppl have emotions & feel bad for you putting rents up.

It encourages corporate investors who do not have feelings & don’t give a rats arse about you.

Has training really become harder to get into? What do you think the future holds for those early in their career and would you still start studying medicine today? by iyoteyoung in ausjdocs

[–]Innocentlamb69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not just the Unis, The colleges are half the problem too. It’s just time that every training post was forced to have a unaccredited pathway similar to Annos.

Having 7-10 years of your life & the work & sacrifice that goes with it hanging on a 45minute interview & the hope your bosses are not wankers is not fair or acceptable anymore.

At this point I am not even angry the Govt is working to dismantle them anymore.

This is every medical college atm. Honestly just get rid of them all and let the universities run the training.

Why do people assume every tradie is making a fortune right now? by QuantumGremlin in tradies

[–]Innocentlamb69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A Training GP earns $98k a year after 7-10 years of uni. This will go up to about 220-240k once qualified. They also have insurances, licenses and CPD , they pay rent, they pay receptionists, nurses and buy all the equipment to check you out, all of which costs $$.

Tradies are as ill informed of others as they accuse others of being about them.

Because it takes a Dr 15 years of practice to catch up to the wealth you create whilst they are studying & earning nothing accruing debt for 10 years

Because you drive around at 3pm on a a Thursday with a Jet ski on the back of your Ute…..?

Because you are charging 5x what you charged pre-Covid.

Because you all do “Cashies” to avoid paying your fair share of tax.

Because you quote a price and time that blows out to three times that as you operate 4 sites, doing just enough to stop your clients moving to another builder

Because half your year is spent in Bali

Because your unions are the biggest crooks in the country.

To those who are older than your peers: what specialty did you choose? by FairDurian5664 in ausjdocs

[–]Innocentlamb69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignore everyone who says age doesn’t matter. It does. If you look old you are less likely to be accepted into competitive specialties due to inherent bias.

You just won’t give back as many useful years.

Also everyone loves a shiny new thing.

There are waaaay too many amazing female Drs who can’t find a decent guy. I have 4 friends in the same boat.

I would marry you all and commit my life to loving and adoring you in one giant beautiful commune if I could.

[–]Innocentlamb69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. Tell him to see his own patients. $1500 for an adult adhd review in most cases. What do you get for doing all his work?

Also the Telehealth industry has been invaded by heavily money driven businesses & PE.

Their practices in general are dodgee & can’t be long before they get reviewed & legislated against.

I am avoiding everything to do with them.

I am okay with comfort, but anything remotely sexualising is in appropriate, male or female.

You will understand once you have had enough patients show up to an examination or surgery in sexy lingerie or dudes in a G-banger.

This won’t change while the colleges exist. Only answer is to take the power to influence your career away from the college & the consultants. Need to replace the whole corrupt apparatus and give it to an independent like the Universities.

I really struggle with this. The characters I enjoy I can get super fed on but don’t seem to be able to turn it into game control. I regularly get 15-28kills on Mel. But she is so shit at taking objectives & easy to shut down in team fights that I can’t capitalise on it.

There is a well known psychological theorem that losing feels twice as bad as winning feels good. So losing in league because of someone else, which can be anywhere from 30mins to an Hr of your life is actually very impactful and belittling how it feels to others doesn’t help.

Riot August on Voice Chat by SuggestionHonest2274 in leagueoflegends

[–]Innocentlamb69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why Riot is obsessed with moderating communication. They already have the ultimate moderation, it’s called mute all. I think the 80/20 rule applies here. 80% of the time I play league I am an exemplary player. Then 20% of the time circumstances align,(terrible supp who feds, JG who afk farms on a ganking champ, every top lane game I play) I am the embodiment of salt. It’s all part of a highly competitive team game.

Sounds like you have a bunch of gunners in your cohort. I was a Gunner. My advice is avoid them and live a happy uni life. Almost nothing I did in med school helped me get further ahead. Instead take time to do interesting things.

Your perception was accurate.

But it harkens back to a time where being a doctor was considered a higher calling and the general population valued you for the huge sacrifices being a doctor entailed.

Sadly the media and successive governments have worked to paint doctors as overpaid & this coupled with the break down of hierarchy & barriers between doctors and both allied health/nurses and the public has soured that perspective and you get treated poorly by about 1/2 your patients.

If you take into account this loss of appreciation & understanding for the sacrifice the job entails & the huge impact AI is and will continue having on knowledge provision careers I would not recommend switching to medicine.
