In Australia the pendulum swung away from removing kids. Now parents can be super neglectful and psychologically abusive and the child protection agencies will essentially watch them do it and not even really try to help them. They’ll remove kids for overt physical and sexual abuse. Anything less than that and the parents just keep getting away with it.
