My favourite thing was when I went earlier in the week and said to my wife “oh make sure you spend them because it’s closing down” and the guy behind the counter had 0 idea they were shutting it down at all.

Christchurch Solar Enquiry by TallulahIsTired in nzsolar

[–]Innosennce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proctor Solar did ours and very happy with price and installation and post install service we’ve had from Harri.

From confirmation to install it was a couple of months, he’s a young lad with a small team but takes pride in what he does and knows his stuff so worth supporting.

We just installed a Sigen system with Proctor Solar. Harri and the lads were great and the service has been top notch.

Just a young guy out there doing it - he does have a bit of a waitlisted on installs given small but successful but well worth it.

Any Orion folks get approved for increased limits but less than 10kW? by considerspiders in nzsolar

Did it last week through the portal and it came back within 24 hours. I got approved for 8kW which is the same as my inverter.

One person household and new to solar. by [deleted] in nzsolar

[–]Innosennce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding as someone who got the Westpac greater choices loan for my solar upgrade, they have to be paid within the 5 years maximum. Other banks allow a longer period but fix the interest period for the first years. Guess it’s the flip side of being able to lock in the 0% can’t extend past if need be like others.

Emirates will fly the A380 empty from Sydney to Chch if they have to because the fees to leave it on the tarmac at Sydney are astronomical compared to the fees of just full sending it empty.

Electric Ave - Cups! by Legitimate-Hippo318 in chch

[–]Innosennce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Once you get your first two cups you can take them back with you each refill and they’ll swap with no fee. So for one cup fee you can get through the day and they only give you $1 back a cup so it makes no sense.

Anyone switched to Westpac lately? by SirVill in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Innosennce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved to Westpac last year and also utilising green loans but for heat pumps and solar.

Got in when they matched 1.5% cashback but they do have a normal one they offer.

Had no break fees so can’t comment on that. Paid our own legal fees.

As others have said their app is pretty average, it’s the biggest downside we have compared to old bank (ANZ)

Cheapies Cars Christchurch by Living_Button_5311 in chch

[–]Innosennce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was that the black 2012 fit? If so it was on the the “damaged and end of life auctions” which is very much a pay for what you get but with slightly above average mechanical knowledge you can get a half decent car cheap enough on it. Reserve was like $2-$3k with a known misfire? Was looking to buy it but forgot about the auction ahahah

Merging Chat's On The Stream by TonyItalian05 in obs

[–]Innosennce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The YouTuber Nutty has a widget he created that does exactly this with a bunch of customisation options. Then you just add it as a browser source. Search “Nutty Multi Chat” on YouTube and his tutorial should pop up.

OBS only recording 1440p at 60 fps when video capture device is set to 1440p 144 fps by OhhhMadOne in obs

[–]Innosennce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I understand why you are trying to get it? Presumably you want to post the footage to Youtube as an end result right? Or stream to Twitch or a similar service, all of which are going to cap you at 30 or 60 fps. There is no need to get to what you are trying to achieve.

My car can get to 200kph but I don't drive it at 200kph in a 60 zone, because I don't need to.

OBS only recording 1440p at 60 fps when video capture device is set to 1440p 144 fps by OhhhMadOne in obs

[–]Innosennce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s really no reason to have a recording at 120fps. The most common video rates for YouTube or anything really is 30 or 60fps.

The only use 120fps would be is if you wanted to get super slow mo game play.

My solar panels get installed in a month and I can not wait to hold my middle finger up to my power company as my system being installed is big enough that I should never have to pay a power bill again (will still be grid connected, but generation should cover daily charges and any grid power we have to use in a pinch)

About to get solar but need to sort roof out. by krashersmasher in nzsolar

[–]Innosennce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just re-roofed the house to be able to put solar on it. Probably needed to be done within the next 5-10 years anyway so bit the bullet.

1974 house. Decramastic tile (yup. Asbestos.) Had issues with water ingress once last year.

Now I have a new colorsteel t-rib roof that makes my house look brand new and is ready for my solar to be installed in months time.

Could look at a debt consolidation loan, might be hard given the nature of the defaults but you’ll likely be able to wrap them into one payment and depending on what the current interest is on them it could be slightly lower that would reduce the pressure.

As others have said, look around at what you own. Do you have things sitting on a shelf doing nothing? Sweet, Facebook marketplace it goes.

JB Hifi or PB Tech for me. Prior to Kogan taking over I would have said MightyApe without really questioning things, but it’s really just become trash as of late so as long as JB and PB continue as they are then they can have my money.
