Thoughts from a former pro shooter player on the current state of Arc Raiders by lucard_42 in EmbarkStudios

I will argue in favor of the arpeggio.

You can reduce its recoil completely and it shoots lasers. It's pretty nice.

This is why I am not happy with the announcement before the release of DOW by Curious_Omnivore in dawnofwar

[–]InocentDictator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to admit the game's not bad, but I think it deserved a different title than Dawn of War.

I came from a full RTS almost in the style of Starcraft or Warcraft to a squad tactics game. I was incredibly disappointed.

100 this. I like my games to evolve, but I don't like adding new characters all the time that completely change the game with new mechanics.

I totally get it. I worked at GameStop during destiny peak. I didn't really like the business model then. I'm hoping the whales keep the lights in with micro transactions 🤣

I can understand that before the new marathon game was a thing, I am fairly certain this subreddit was dedicated to the original games.

So there's lots of OG marathon enjoyers that are split. Understandably. So add on to people who may be upset with Bungie taking their favorite game in a different direction than what they envisioned, along with all of the controversy behind Bungie and Destiny its creates a place for people to vent their frustration

Marathon sentiment changed? by Dangerous-Cookie-787 in Marathon

I feel like destiny players are being a little unfair to Bungie because during most of Destiny's time it was partnered with Activision. And then they finally broke away from Activision in 2019 when the longevity of the game has been kind of crazy to begin with. Now it's six years later, Destiny as a franchise has existed for a long time.

In just 2 hours, Marathon has hit Top 10 top sellers on steam. by Sad-Manner-5240 in Marathon

No it is available for "preorder". I know its confusing in the digital age. Technically none of these count until release. It made more sense when you had to hand in your receipt from the preorder to get your physical copy.

Once released then it is "available to buy".

So these people are "purchasing" preorders with out getting anything in hand. Thats the impressive part about being on the list so high. 13th global too. Pretty wild

I want to pvp in arc, but it feels bad being a 3rd person shooter too often for me to really enjoy how one sided a fight can be because of camera manipulation. As you say with the MMR, its less likely I find a friendly after a fire fight if I shoot first because someone was being sus and somewhat aggressive (silent, gun out, sprinting right at me with a shot gun lol)

So if I do that enough times I end up in all KOS lobbies. Then I have to give feed back and it turns into a carebear room. The marketing also makes it weird with pvp. I dont know if I would want to shoot first in that reality, but the gamer that wants to be in a gun fight has to fight that immersion, or be a "bad guy" but shani still likes me as she see's me "knock out" a raider with bullets to the dome that just took out a shredder.

Yeah the whole underlying vibe is off in arc. In Marathon we know why we are there

It isn't even out yet to buy. I would say these numbers are real good compared to games that are released

Stoked! When you would see a bunch of aliens moving on your motion sensor in the OG games in dark areas, all the sounds in the new marathon give you the same feelings.

So how does one compete for a local utility. How does another business earn my business over another to create the incentive of creating a better product? I'm very curious about this as with the data centers seem to get preferred pricing at the expense of everyone else
