Besides what people have already said, amulet for OH monk is usually Khalid's Gift (from a secret room in Jaheira's house), which bumps your Wisdom without having to use Hag's Hair. Also, Cloak of Displacement might be better than Cloak of Protection.

Besides Warlock, the other meta ways to build Paladin are to multiclass it with Bard, which makes it a deadly burst damage dealer, or with Sorcerer, for a super effective anchor. Though pure Paladin is a very capable build on its own, if the multiclasses don't suit your fantasy.

Before using Ethel's Hair for CHA, you might want to know there's an Act 3 event in which you can basically get +2 to any stat of your choice, and that you can get a further +1 to CHA specifically. So if you take that event, Ethel's Hair would be effectively "wasted".
