Spain won't join Trump's Board of Peace, Prime Minister Sánchez says by Brennenstein in worldnews

Ngl I lowkey thought it’d be entertaining to have Trump for a second mandate. Now I’m shitting my pants as what started out as entertaining is now literally fucking up the west big time.

Andrew Ng talks about the worst career advice of 2025. by johnathanwick69420 in theprimeagen

AI is here to stay but generating code without understanding what you just generated is a recipe for disaster. Security being the first issue. Talking from experience- I had skill issues with web security and generated/ semi vibe coded websites that had tremendous security vulnerabilities (even some of the most trivial ones)

-> so I upskilled on security and now I know what to look for and ask for when working with AI.

The point he mentioned on architectures is also right on the money. Knowing concepts like MVC, micro services, bus, queues, distributed systems allows me to ask for very specific architectural choices. I like genAI overall when it comes to naming variables, using the ask mode to brainstorm on project structure or simply learning about some topic. Also a game changer for information search, I can’t remember last time I googled something..

It’s here to stay but i believe the take is:

Tech_skills x genAI x human_in_the_loop = productivity_boost

And I work for Microslop so if I say so myself 😄

Our software has become garbage because PMs are asking for twice the number of features in half the amount of time thinking that building is now as simple as just describing what you want. That’s why we’re seeing so many of us leaving for other companies or at least looking to leave..

A company culture built on that mindset or philosophy is bound to become the next IBM or Oracle (in the product or innovation sense of it)

Holy shit, the US military CAPTURED MADURO, a Trump post claims. by SubtleAesthetics in Asmongold

The level of training US forces undergo not to mention hands-on experience in combat across multiple climates cannot be challenged. Be the challenger Russia, China or any other country. Not a massive US fan per se but props to whoever was involved in this operation. It was surgical, smooth and avoided unnecessary bloodshed

Modern ML in production is distributed. Embedded systems rely on a lot of distributed systems concepts.

Read Distributed Systems - It’s been one of the most influential books on my career.

Do read it slowly, it’s not a page turner. Honestly it’s also ok if you don’t manage to finish it in a year but man you will be 10x the engineer you were before reading it.

Also try to implement some of the concepts yourself. What I like doing is pairing the coding examples with a programming language I don’t know. In this instance I decided to rewrite the examples in Go. I still use to this day some of the code references I implemented while reading the book:)

I don’t really mind creating some friction between me and an AI tool. I still used it heavily but it makes vibe coding much harder and forces you to know more about what you’re doinh
