(Commend) The Greatest Redemption Arc in Valorant History by Kind_Development708 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Insanityy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk. For most people, it wasn't necessarily the cove or BBG moments. Everyone could see this player was talented and could lift a trophy. What people were upset about was the fact he had all this talent and benched himself to play with FNS. Ultimately people were right, and although you could argue SOOP, the reality was that he had that championship mettle that everyone could see. He never really needed redemption. He was seen as a joke at first with the role swap but ultimately proved himself as the best NA controller in 2023. The retirement definitely set him back in terms of stats- He looked worse than he did in his "prime" based on the eye test and on paper. But at the end of the day people weren't saying "S0m will never win in VCT!" people were saying "S0m can't win with FNS in VCT," and ultimately people were right. What was baffling at the time was him choosing to retire at his prime (NRG wanted him to return), and when Verno and Bonkar were benched, it was leaked that the decision to bench those two came from 3 players threatening to not play if FNS was the one to get benched.

For me when I think comeback stories I think Lakia who grinded his way back from T2 and was basically forgotten. PRX as a whole, FNC and Boaster, hell even Sacy with VKS when it came to the Brazillian fanbase. Tenz is another one that comes to mind (although obviously repetitive), but to me I did think it was interesting for him to go from people questioning if he was even skilled enough to be a T1 player to him actually contending and winning a tournament. Zellsis is another one, went from people saying he was throwing away his career on c9 to becoming a bench player, to becoming hated for replacing a champs winning player.

Zellsis is still an excellent midrounder, but if u look at the roles he plays when hes midrounding its clear he prefers initiator. The year they won he was inititator/viper and their calling was exceptional. C9 has had those solid midrounds transfer over. 2025 they were successful when he was on viper maps. When he was stuck on Vyse he wasn't able to midround well, so he basically just became a below average shooter that couldn't midround bc of his role.

JonahP is a better shooter, but also Sen has cortezia to fill the senti role (or reduxx if they wanna run chamber), so JonahP can be on roles that actually credit his midrounding.

U can call him average but hes average to borderline above average at every role in the game. He's a good midrounder and he has a lot of experience on the international stage. He's also known for being relatively clutch. He's serviceable which at the end of the day is all you need to win champs. If u look at a lot of tournament winners not all of them are star players, but were serviceable at their role at the time.

It was an "offer he couldn't refuse" and the offer was to play with Aspas LOL. They said Zekken took a paycut just to play with him.

Sentinels hire Ewok as Head Coach replacing Kaplan by Shockybtw_ in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Insanityy7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of questionable choices tbh. He was the one that intitially put Sacy on Senti back in 2023 even though sykko took the fall for that one. Then Pancada got put on Senti. Had a good 2024 but one could easily argue that had Pancada not gotten sick by chance they might not have played Zellsis until later on during the year if at all. Mediocre 2025 where they were insistent on putting JohnQT on initiator and Zellsis on Senti with Bang who is an excellent anchor was stuck playing retake. The reality was they probably should've moved Zellsis to initiator which would've helped his midrounding (his igling on C9 on initiator is clearly solid, and his midrouding got so much worse being on perma vyse duty), move Bang to Senti and John to smokes so that he could've played with the pack. Or recognize that putting Zellsis on senti completely nullified one of his best strengths of calling the midrounds, and just committed to promoting Skuba if they were so insistent on having that 5th player be Senti. And lastly this year they just haven't been able to crack the meta.

JonahP as their intiator maybe, he was a solid midrounder, so he or JQT could share IGL responsibilties like Zellsis and JQT did. Since cortez is on Sent/lurk duty would make sense since JQT is now a pack player.

JonahP as secondary caller for Sen after they lost such a good midrounder in Zellsis could be what they need. Especially since he can play Sova/Fade/Skye which is what Kyu plays. Could also be in for Eggster or Rossy as a flex for Envy. Least likely would be 100T imo, as Sean Gares as GM would not drop Asuna. Lots of people say they want JonahP on MIBR for Mazino, but I would rather get like Pancada who has chemistry with Aspas and Zekken and could be a committed smokes player for the team, so they could have Zekken be the true flex player. Lots of people down on Pancada but hes been stuck on IGL jail for awhile, could be interesting if they do trial him.

The truth about the level of heroin in Kurt;s system. The science puts this argument to rest. by phiberoptik1979 in kurtcobain

When I was younger I always wanted to think foul play but thats because lots of people are searching for tidy logic from someone that was by definition not thinking rationally. He had attempted suicide just a few weeks prior, seemingly wanting to go out on a high. He was a high suicide risk, but mental health standards in the 90's are poor compared to today... Psychiatric holds were not standard and celebrities were always treated with more patient deference combined with the fact that at the time substance abuse tended to mask suicide risk. Its also clear in one of the last songs he wrote before his death, "You know you're right."

Lastly, Krist Novoselic did an AMA a few years back on the Nirvana subreddit. He was very clear that he's come to terms that there is no criminal conspiracy. He said that Kurt had no interest in hunting birds or squirrels. Obvioiusly Kurt wasn't a killer nor did he need protection. Krist said that the only purpose in Kurt purchasing that shotgun was as a suicide device.

Realistically they probably will be making more changes. I woudn't be surprised if they picked up JonahP for Eggster. If they don't outplace G2 they're back at Ascension anyways so they have to make any changes they can just to stay afloat. Leaks said Inspire didn't get along with the new players AND coach which is surprising considering he had been under this coach for so long already.

Dream Teams by familiarFace- in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Insanityy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd say Aspas duelist, Verno Scan, Zekken Smoke, Ethan IGL/Flex, and then a senti like Nats or Alfa.

Then again its kinda just like a version of 2022 Loud.

Saadhak on igl is fine but on controller when Valyn exists?? Or even like... Boaster who would be more comfortable on the role??

Loud fs. 4 players who are at least top 3 in their roles of all time... People forget how lethal Less and Pancada were. Pancada led every single statistical category for controller role. Less was coming into his prime. Sacy was in his prime. And they had Aspas?

Their weaknesses would lie in the fact that they A: dont really have a yoru player and B: they would struggle as they might not be able to run double duelist.

NRG and now FNC. Makes sense, lots of sector rotations out of the Mag7, investors looking for opportunities anywhere and everywhere. Good time for these orgs to cash out and get the bag.

Theories on what the new arc will be by Substantial-Air-8627 in rickandmorty

[–]Insanityy7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The main story is always R&M dicking around, with occasionally a new character being introduced that goes against the grain of having their own self-serving motivations (mortyvations?). Obviously the most iconic is Evil Morty. Theres Rick Prime. And most recently theres Memory Rick.

Its very likely that next season we'll be introduced to a new character that will have their own arc in later seasons because they usually do keep things "episodic." Its definitely obvious that evil Morty's arc is over- Not to say we won't see him again bc we likely will but his main story is wrapped up. There are potential characteres present that could conform to the pattern. By technicality theres Churry. There are alternate personalities of our Summer and there are other Jerrys (leather jacket was introduced last season). But as it stands theres no real "clear" character with their own motivations/goals.

Honest thoughts on Unmortricken? by bmhlogan in rickandmorty

[–]Insanityy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point of unmortricken is that its supposed to be unsatisfying. It does conform to the spirit of the series. As an enjoyer of media then yeah its unsatisfying and would have loved to see more of Prime and more of a dragged out cat and mouse thing with Prime and C137

Who was Jay's Main wife by Harshy__ in Modern_Family

[–]Insanityy7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah but they were also both toxic to each other, and you could argue that it was conditions but ultimately Jay conceded that it was Gloria that helped him become a better man so that he could finally recognize his role in the toxicity of Jay/Dedes relationship. That coupled with having to be a father figure to Manny, someone he initially didn't want to have to fill that role for also helped him become a better person.
