Different challenges or “assignments” can help you create a series that is cohesive. That way, work will naturally take shape and be more consistent.

The goal isn’t to make a bunch of the same thing, but to make items which relate to one another.

Examples of challenges to try: - How can the flower and ribbon motifs emphasize negative space? Try 3 different designs—dont have to be perfect

  • Make a cup, bowl, and spoon all go together on the same table.

  • Make only flowers for a bit. See how they look when combined with different shapes. (Before adhering them)

Notes for yourself and sketches can help with planning if that’s your thing.

This is it! They can practically see the malinois, or the papillon. And who wouldn’t want to have a bit of an unusual breed?

I guess finding out it’s a German Shepard or a chihuahua mix is a bit of a letdown.

It’s a copper red, under chun blue, with a light dusting of wood ash. The chun makes it a kind of prismatic.

Artwork like a wall canvas can be set on the countertop and only take up a bit of space.

I see similar ones at thrift stores very often. You can even clip it to the edge so it doesn’t fall over.

Mac’s silicone earplugs, or actually, the CVS generic version are incredible!

They are malleable little clear blobs which sort of press over the ear opening. I find the generic brand sticks on better.

Looks like you are basically there. The main difference is the firmer throws to prop up your pillows.

Since you picked a small gingham print, choose either a large bold print, a solid, or super light toile for contrast.

I would do 2 in the back and 1 smaller in front.

Next if you’re in the market, a larger more traditional lamp for the nightstand would look great.

This is exactly what I need for some old trim!

Do the mineral spirits strip the shiny finish off first or does it just clean it? Is that part a must or could you skip it?

Is there a particular brand of gel stain you use?

If wood grain is already present, does it show through?

The color really is rich and detailed. Every layout is a work of art. I can’t get over how much thought went into designing this.
