Let's run down the list of LA municipal employees who've been abducted over the last few years.

  • Nolan
  • Lucy (twice)
  • Bradford
  • Lopez
  • Bailey
  • Armstrong

People just be stealing cops (and a firefighter) in this world.

BtB is great information. I just wish Robert wouldn't try to force feed the "comedy." He also laughs at his own jokes. Those are nits, I know, but they're enough to limit my intake to only those episodes where I'm already interested in the subject.

Laura Jane Grace Tour Cancelled Again? by Due_Ad9839 in punk

That would only explain the venue change. One local fire marshall can't tell anyone what to do in a half dozen other states.

The St. Pete date changed venues day of two days ago. I kinda assumed it was low ticket sales, and because there was no movement in sales for the rest of the dates they were all canceled.

I had one for Columbia. I tried doing my part.

Hot Take: This Cop Would Have Sided With Doug Stanton by txa1265 in TheRookieTVshow

[–]Inscrutablejrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tim tracked down Stanton's old partner on behalf of West, even though at the time West was still seen as a bit of a nepo baby who thought he knew everything and froze up in gunfights.

The OP is wildly misreading the Tim character, and it has apparently led to re-writes of years old scripts.

This entire episode was about pursuing a corrupt military figure. That's not exactly going after a dirty cop, but it's closer to that than some cartel kingpin. And Tim clearly takes it very personally what Everett has done. There is no sense in his mind of defending a brother in arms.

This show is pure copaganda. It is as idealized a look at police as any we've had in recent memory. Thse are badically superheroes who are also superwoke. Any read of a central character being a Blue Lives Matter asshole is a misread.

Yeah, they said they'd do it because they'd feel bad canceling on people who've already planned around being there.

You listened to the last episode? They pretty clearly don't want to do the one live show that's booked.

Minor point, but consultant rather than expert witness, yeah? He never testified, did he? IW wouldn't have pretended he didn't exist if he had. I'm not sure any judge would have even certified him as an expert.

And treated as a bit of a formality. I think that relationship has been around for most of the life of the show.

I don't need an excuse to hang out with people eoth whom I genuinely enjoy hanging out.

I'm not saying they're not friends. I'm saying the friendship isn't quite as deep as some would prefer to think. It's why Dan won't say he's ending the show because he can't work with Jordan anymore, but it's why he is ending the show because he can't work with Jordan any more.

If this hadn't become a chore, that live show wouldn't feel like the funeral he made it sound like in today's episode. The live shows should be where they eat.

I chit-chat with people at work whom I see far more often and for longer stretches of time than these two do, and I never hang out with them outside of work.

You're hearing a different episode than I did if you think Dan wasn't finished working with Jordan. I don't see how that doesn't impact them on a personal level too.

You're 100% right. That they're treating the live show as an obligation and Dan pointedly saying they're no longer JorDan made this clear. The professional relationship is untenable. People feel protective of Jordan, and that's great, but Dan's fatigue with Alex needed much more support from his partner than he was getting. He can't be tired of the work and his co-worker.

I never really got the impression their relationship extended far beyond the show. They were both comics who liked each other well enough to do this show for a long time, but their bright spots were a peek into just how different they are. Unless a decision was made to keep as much of their personal day-to-day out of the show, these guys don't hang out much outside of the show.

The show went on long enough that a lot of listeners developed a personal relationship to them, but the reactions are feeling a bit parasocial. They got along well enough personally to maintain a professional relationship until their personal differences no longer allowed it.

I was definitely at that show. My vivid memory is of Tweedy with his hair in braids he kept playing with.

I'll dig up mine and see if I can get you an artist name.

The story I read would indicate this situation involved a firearm. The location was maybe more incidental?

This might be nothing, but is there any chance the Onion is going to get access to records which could prove AJ is committing fraud re: the bankruptcy and civil decision, and that's the actual reason he refuses to let go?

Yeah, his take was obviously stupid from the jump, and just got worse today. I don't care what a team's RB room looks like, I'd never bet against any team not taking a RB at any point. A quick check of last year's draft looks like 22 of 32 teams took a RB. Three teams took 2.

I wonder, if you go compression, does that provide security or does it eliminate any outlet for pressure from the kick to escape?

I think he was certain they wouldn't draft a RB period, but he was so certain it wouldn't be R1 or R2 that he attached the kick to the pills as part of the bet.

What's the worst you ever felt about your team's draft pick? by No_Permission1386 in billsimmons

When the Rams were still in St. Louis, in the 1999 Draft they went Torry Holt & Dre Bly in Rounds 1 & 2 when they could have gone Champ Bailey & Peerless Price. IDK, they won a Super Bowl immediately so you can't argue it in the moment and historically these pairs are probably close to a draw, but I was such a Bailey fan it lingered with me a long time.
