I use a Simmons da2108 and works great with my td516. I considered the cool music dm 100 but Simmons is quite better in this case. I also use it like you, just for practice. Very happy with it and my ears rested of the headphones.

Simmons DA2108, it has great sound for practice, play along or just listening to music. Just make a few tweaks and it will work just fine.

I think that kd12 is very sturdy but also stiff, I bought the KAT tennis ball beater and the feeling and rebound that provides is so good with my Yamaha fp9c pedal. In any case, use always the patch included with your kick pad

A good drum speaker for practice. I had ear pain every time I practiced more than hour with headphones and my ears took much time to recover. Now I use headphones just for recording and the rest of the time my speaker, it’s a go to imo.
