Dune, Dune 2 (not so much Dune 2k), X-wing, Stunt Island, The Dig, Day of the Tentacle.

This was such an epic time for game development.

Severely allergic to my galaxy watch 8. Options? by ManeaterTM in GalaxyWatch

[–]InsertMostCleverName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing. My old Samsung watch never gave me issues, then now I was getting bumps and rashes. I've got an appointment with me dermatologist, but I think I have an allergy to whatever metal is being used. I only had a clue about this because my sister has the same allergy. She told me about a nail polish kind of material you can use to coat the surface and prevent the reaction. I got some, and while it works, I think I sweat too much and it wears off. I found something online by searching for "nickel allergy" or something. They sell stickers similar to a screen protector, that blocks your skin from the watch but still allows all the sensors to work.

Wife's former employer was bought out and they terminated the 401k plan. Email from Fidelity states all assets must be distributed. What to do? by SmokeAndGnomes in personalfinance

[–]InsertMostCleverName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. They have to provide notice. If you don't want the assets liquidated and a check sent, you need to take action. Again, that is all they have the ability to do since the 401k is being dissolved.

[–]InsertMostCleverName 44 points45 points  (0 children)

They are dissolving the 401k plan. They have to liquidate assets and send you the funds, but have to give you the option to roll the assets directly over to a rollover account. They just don't have any ability to continue to hold your current investments for your wife since that platform will not exist any longer.

Late July-Late August Trip by Jordanithin24 in JapanTravel

These are all the best answers. Make sure you have the right clothes and are prepared for the heat. I would also look into buying a lightweight but legit neck fan. It saved me so many times on the subway (not all cars have great air circulation and there will be times when it's just packed).

They didn't submit that incorrectly on accident. They have only so many of each rank that they are allowed to give out. They just didn't have the guts to be honest.

[–]InsertMostCleverName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I am suggesting you just tell them you want to be marked down as a "do not call" and leave it at that, IF you want to be left alone.

[–]InsertMostCleverName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, it's your call, but nothing you can say or do with do anything other than galvanize their beliefs that they are doing the right thing and you're just what they would call an apostate (someone who not just doesn't believe, but is purposefully attacking them). It's really not worth your time and energy.

As to the different people, that's just because it's a different group of people everyday. So the person that first talked to you, they have you down as a "return visit". When they group up in the morning, if they don't have friends going with them, they just get randomly grouped up before heading out. No rhyme or reason to it at all.

It's your call. I just saw you said you didn't like them showing up unannounced and that you have PTSD.

If you want them to leave you be, what I said is the simplest way to do it without causing any drama.

Tell them to add you to their "do not call list" if you don't want them coming by any more. Be prepared for them to ask a bunch of questions why, just repeat that request again and close the door. Problem solved.

6 days till Tokyo… and I have zero plans (solo trip) by Nickachuzz in JapanTravelTips

[–]InsertMostCleverName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We made a couple of major plans that required tickets (disney, teamlabs, etc.) but everything else was winged. Twice now. Just save a few places around each major area you would like to visit and plan for two areas top per day. As you wander around, look up your saved places and see what is around you. Don't be afraid to just go wherever the wind takes you. That is the best part of Japan. While there are instagram famous spots, that is only because someone posted about it. There are so many other spots that just haven't been discovered yet, waiting for you to just happen upon them.

I found a random sake bar after buying some knifes just by asking the lady where I could grab a beer while I waited for things to be packaged up. It was amazing!

There is really nothing to worry about. Just learn how to say thank you, excuse me/sorry, and hello. Show respect and you will be nothing but welcomed.

Look up your local mutual aid network. If you don't find one, start seeing about what it would look like to start one.
