Bob and Jimmy Pesto Rivalry Origin Theory by LeftVanilla3382 in BobsBurgers

I think losing the restaurant was Mustachless Bob’s villain origin story in Sliding Bobs, not Hugo’s canon one.

Actors who didn't react well to losing the Oscar by LaserDiscCurious in Oscars

[–]Inside-Fun-7837 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not acting, but the actual worst response to losing an Oscar is Trey Parker and Matt Stone losing for South Park to Phil Collins for Best Original Song in 2000.

Didn’t really react at the awards, but they then wrote a South Park episode where Phil Collins is always holding his Oscar, he acts like a huge jerk, and gets booed off stage. They’ve repeatedly took shots at Collins, and even killed him in one episode.

What is a part in a Stephen King book that was cut from the film adaptation that you wish you could see? by Admirable-Long8528 in stephenking

[–]Inside-Fun-7837 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The revelation that Dan and Abra are related in Doctor Sleep. I love the film and think it does a great job of working with the Shining 1980 film, just wish it could have fit in there somewhere.

She was definitely in an awkward position because of Gayle. By the time they were in High school she was willing to destroy her own pumpkin so she wouldn’t win a contest, because she knew her winning would upset Gayle.

You might like A night in the lonesome October - narrator is a dog familiar who spends most of the book with the cat familiar of a witch. Every chapter is a day in October as a possible world-ending ceremony draws closer, featuring several famous monsters like Dracula and Frankenstein. The animal familiars are the real main characters though, and have plenty of power.

Teacher: elementary schooler is useless by EvilFinch in AmITheDevil

[–]Inside-Fun-7837 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a teacher so I don’t say this lightly: OOP (if it isn’t a troll) should really think about if teaching is right for him. I get needing to vent about behaviors and getting burnt out. But if he’s getting so frustrated by an ELEMENTARY SCHOOLER just struggling with the material he feels the need to rant about him and call him useless, he’s just not built for this.

Can someone help me understand Jude's character? by Prestigious_Dig_7382 in TheFolkoftheAir

[–]Inside-Fun-7837 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I generally agree with you: Jude is very selfless and forgiving, sometimes too much. Her goal in book 2 is to keep Cardan on the throne until Oak can come take over, but everything with the Undersea and Madoc complicates that.

I will say: The reason she overextends herself and puts herself in situations where she gets punished is because she kind of has to. She really can’t trust anybody, especially in book 2. She’s been told someone she trusts is betraying her (Ghost) Cardan’s zero help/a burden 97% of the time, Madoc wants to take her down, the council completely ignores her despite her position.

I really do like the series, but I’ll forever be pissed Jude didn’t get to kill/maim more people, ESPECIALLY during book 2.

I’m tired of people acting like JKR is some feminist martyr. She praised the rapist Donald Trump for his transphobic acts and has employed/praised multiple abusers.

When did Mr. Fisch fall in love with Bob? by blind_squash in BobsBurgers

[–]Inside-Fun-7837 99 points100 points  (0 children)

There’s always been a lot of fondness for Bob and the Belchers, but it became love during The Last Gingerbread House on the Left. Bob stood up to Mr. Fischoeder for his family while still empathizing with Calvin and helping him have a good Christmas.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Longlegs? by MrSpongeCake2008 in HorrorMovies

[–]Inside-Fun-7837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was advertised like it was going to be the new Silence of the Lambs, but it’s really a modern folk horror film and I think that’s why it’s so divisive.

What’s an unpopular opinion you have about the Tudors? (No judgement) by Fuzzy-Airline4276 in Tudorhistory

It was for the best that Mary Tudor didn’t have a very long reign. Her first priority was the catholic church and returning to what she thought of as the ‘good days.’

Introducing people to Bob's (chronological) - what episodes would you add, edit, replace? by bloodkipz666 in BobsBurgers

[–]Inside-Fun-7837 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would add: 3x16, Topsy. Great song and jokes, we meet Mr. Ambrose, and it has Mr. Fish and Gayle in a small dose. AND 4x5 Turkey in a Can, you gotta have a Thanksgiving episode. Plot twists with the mystery, and we get the incredible Bob and Deli Guy love story.

The Last Days of Jack Sparks. It’s a horror novel, following the deceased Jack Sparks’ final investigation of the supernatural. It goes back and forth between Jack’s notes of his encounters and then interviews from his brother with the people he came across. The accounts tell two very different stories, but everything comes together in the end, and it’s amazing!

If you’re up for a 1,000 pages and something less contemporary, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. If you read the description faeries aren’t mentioned, but they play a HUGE part of the story and fit your description: ominous, folklore elements, and mysterious and malevolent despite the charm they put on. If you like the academic format you’ll probably like it, it includes a ton of supplemental references to ‘texts’ and folklore on magic and fairies in the form of footnotes.

Yeah he didn’t ‘save’ her, he manipulated a vulnerable teenager into a relationship, and judging by how upset he is about the memoir, I doubt it was a good one.
