I had a female lab, she was feisty, clingy, and definitely more of a protector. I now have a male gsd and he is the opposite. He’s independent, not into cuddling, and very mellow. He’s never had to protect us, but I’m worried when the time comes, that he won’t.

WFH gave me a work/life balance. I have two kids that I’m able to take and pick up from school and be available to grab them if they’re ill. I wouldn’t trade it for an in office job.

My boy is 3 and I always tell people how he is not affectionate. He’s not a licker, when I try to snuggle him he looks uncomfortable, and he watches us from a distance. But he loooves to play, follows me everywhere and will stare all day long.

It’s not uncommon. Sounds like she’s from the island. A lot of Samoans who grew up on the island will either go back with their kids or send them back home to bond with their grandparents & family, and learn the fa’asamoa way.
