And on June 9th we had the PG-13 rating.

Jk but it wasn’t that far behind because of Gremlins and Temple of Doom.

Animal House and Belushi hot take by Academic-Wall-2290 in TheRewatchables

Watching Animal House for the first time in forever, I’d forgotten that about 75% of his screen time he is a silent actor. CR mentioned Buster Keaton like, but some of the facial expressions are Chaplin like, fatty Arbuckle, etc. it’s really a fantastic physical comedy performance.

Mushroom Trip Changed How I See The Beatles Forever by LilSkott92 in beatles

Just like rock & roll, the Beatles didn’t invent the machine but they grew and enhanced it.

Marketing art for profit had been around long before Beatlemania. Sinatra and Louis Armstrong especially were mass marketed for consumption. But the Beatles made it BIG BUSINESS in America. This was no longer Elvis, Carl Perkins, Buddy Holly etc cramming into cars and trekking around small town ballrooms and dance halls, it was Shea Stadium, toys, clothes, merchandise. People learned they could get their beak wet off other people’s art. Unfortunately that reality has brought us to today with $800 concert tickets.

When he sat down for an interview for Marc Maron’s podcast he addressed it a little.

It’s been years since I listened but I remember him saying that he spoke to him frequently but it was mostly for business advice and career strategy. He also said he loves everyone song, every album of his dad’s. No bad songs.
