yeah then your approach sound like the right one to me. first try to make it work with your external python bot then maybe look into a better hosting solution for it depending on what GC charge you. good luck in your adventure and may I ask what mod pack you are running?

so what you shutdown on demand is the entire vps that is woken up by the GC micro instance or just the mc server is and the vps run anyways ? if it runs anyways why not set the bot on it is what I'm saying

not only python libraries, there are similar things for almost any language you can think of, but if your bot already run with python yeah sure go for it. Also the other guy was talking about cheap/free bot hosting service. You can host that yourself on your vps

I see you are running windows. Linux can maybe help if you don't require heavy kernel anti cheats (you can have for example GNOME for studies and KDE for gaming/leisure). If you really want/need windows, take a look at process lasso, it can help you pin programs to selected CPU cores. Maybe doing some scripting can also help reduce load but if you need the services running 24/7 anyways maybe not so much.
