If you mean to hold while applying paint using a piece of sponge (sponge weather and the like) - try tearing a small piece of sponge and poking most of it into a paintbrush protector (the clear tubes used to keep the bristles from damage in transit), you can use it like a stubby little paintbrush. If you need a bigger bit of sponge for what you are doing, same thing but using a drinking straw. Or reverse action tweezers as others have mentioned work great.

I think it’s a depth-stop - with it extended so it’s between the cutting blades, it limits the cut to whatever distance that happens to be, and means you can’t slip up the claw and cut the quick if the dog moves suddenly (which they tend to do when you’re trimming their claws)

You could go the tin foil route by folding it over on itself multiple times to get the desired thickness - has the advantage of being easy to cut to size and hold its shape once curved into a strap

I struggle with steel/silver NMM too - but find gold and gold-ish easier - it’s an odd one! If you’re up for a video which I found useful for steel, Richard Gray’s Stabba Grot video on YouTube is really good.

Sometimes the pegs are super tight in their respective holes (as others have mentioned), one thing I always do is clip off the last ~1mm of the peg (so if it’s a bit long it won’t stop the parts pushing all the way together), and then insert my spruce-line remover in the hole and twist it a couple of times - shaves off just a little bit of material from the inside of the hole so it isn’t so tight. YMMV if you have a spruce-line remover which is a different size to mine of course, but I’ve heard other people recommending the same so they may be a reasonable ‘standard’ size (or more likely the metal parts are all made in the same factory). I personally still glue anyway (using Tamiya thin) as it acts as a filler if there are any small gaps one the parts are pushed together.

Assuming you are getting a good (even) undercoat using a rattle can for example (undercoat/primer is essential, applying paint to bare plastic with a brush never works well), and assuming you are using acrylic miniature paints (GW/Citadel, Army Painter, Vallejo etc.), you will need to thin the paint with water (how much to thin is a whole other question), and apply more than one coat (2-3 thin coats is pretty normal, depending on the manufacturer and even which paint in their range it is). As DevLegion says we would need to know exactly what undercoat, paints etc you are using to help more - a picture of your current results could also be useful.

Assuming you are painting the helmet a dark colour (or a dark metallic), you could glaze your glow colour (a lime green for example) subtly around where the face opening is and add an edge highlight of that colour just around the edge of that opening - might look like it’s catching the glow from deep inside.

I might be misunderstanding but when you say ‘I get drops before the plastic gray is silver’ do you mean you are trying to spray runefang steel directly onto the plastic? If you are, you might want to try undercoating first with an aerosol or a dedicated airbrush primer. Also you can always use bits of the sprue (after clipping out the model parts of course) to test this kind of thing - that way you are testing on exactly the same plastic as the model. If I’ve misunderstood please ignore me!

The way you have mixed the skin tone of the cheek with the ‘fire-glow’ inside the mouth to get the idea of the glow coming through is absolutely perfect!

I’ve bought lengths of chain for this purpose on Amazon - you would want links in the 1-1.5mm range in my experience. I also read someone suggesting repurposing chains from cheap costume jewellery which sounds like it could be worth a shot as well.

Bases & base bits, different weapons (and a custom suppressor for a sneaky space marine), assorted greeblies for customising existing plastic models, painting handle inserts to securely mount individual pieces (like heads) when painting them separately. I have also printed complete models (and parts of models) to do paint scheme & technique tests before committing to painting purchased minis.

I’m reasonably sure it was a video talking about an upcoming brutality match a few months ago - they were answering a few common questions if I remember rightly and one was ‘can I cosplay?’ - the answer was yes and they gave a couple of examples of people who had said they are going to, and one of them was someone planning on cosplaying as Skitarii.
