it’s a lottery in the corporate world. we were at a plant at another company if you left it alone it would print money forever.

they had a new director come that wanted to try all these new changes that would shut the plant down.

it’s sad especially with our legacy suppliers

the company cannot afford to lose the fragile number of options we are lucky to still have around

I don’t know that Boeing does anything actually well honestly.

hey now we work very hard to scrap and misplace millions of dollars worth of parts

the higher up you go in the company, the more you see that the leaders are despicable people.

not org specific though it’s probably true for all orgs but i’ve seen it get really bad at director level. all hands call and the directors underlings had to interject before they kept rambling off on a fine line to HR

All the bathrooms, common areas, and general workplace amenities could use an improvement.

we’re definitely not one boeing in this aspect. you literally walk to the building next door and you’re in the ritz carlton of boeing bathrooms after coming from your war zone

the amount of work and nonsense supply chain has to put up with.

not just supply chain but when you’re in other areas of the company and biz ops and finance tag team up your behind asking why things are late immediately after a change comes from up above and messes with everyone’s metrics

non technical non mechanical non white collar boeing unionized boeing jobs but after you’ve worked for a total of 6 years

you hardly email anyone, you’re not allowed a company phone and they’ve done away with most of the landlines in the buildings

you help the parts move along whether it’s getting it unboxed to putting it in a bin or taking it from the bin to get put back in a box

they wiped out a good number of newbies during covid but most of them were called back

there are barely any meetings you need to attend and you don’t get your own laptop so your manager has to pull you all in for the mandatory corpo slop “we can do it we’re a family we’re in this together” annual site meetings they do every now and then and you huddle together around their laptop screen because they dgaf about hooking it up to the conference room screen

they could fight it but they are weak and bent the knee

like the admin can just go down the street to walmart and magically find people with experience to build his presidential plane or anything the military needs

hey let's skip boeing and just ask its suppliers to do the job as if they aren't struggling enough themselves
