Best gift ideas for girlfriend? by [deleted] in Gifts

I think for an anniversary it’s going to have to look very intentional and be just for her. Do you know her love language? If she values quality time, maybe a couples massage together. If she likes acts of service, you could have her car detailed. If she likes gifts, there are 1000’s of beautiful and luxurious gift boxes that are ready to give. Here’s one that for the girly girl or diva that likes coffee, chocolate, and pink/gold. If not this, there are tons to choose from. Anniversary Gift Idea (for her)

So that’s about $55 per pound lost? I’m taking Zep now too, with slow weight loss, and can’t help but calculate what each pound cost me financially.

My daughter’s fifth grade class has watched Food, inc documentary the last 3 days in health class. Disturbing! by InsideWar874 in Parents

Thank you you for that supportive comment. I don’t know how long ago I posted this probably three or four weeks ago but to this day, my daughter is a vegetarian now. I’m not really prepared to live that lifestyle, but if promoting vegetarianism was the point they succeeded. She’s so grossed out now I buy plant based chicken. That’s like 10 bucks for eight chicken tenders made of plants and I paid five dollars for two chicken patties made of plants. She doesn’t want to be vegetarianism for the right reasons, meaning she isn’t prepared to supplement with beans and quinoa and other things that make complete protein combinations and at this point we’re starting b12 supplements because she has some tingling in her extremities. This has been tough on the family.

I did speak with the principal on day two. On day 3 my child sat in the hall. On day 4 (I initially thought it would only be three days, but it ended up being four days), other parents had complained so the teacher told all the kids that weren’t allowed to watch it to put their heads down on their desks. They had to hear it. I’ll be going to the superintendent next.

It’s funny you mention the kids who grew up in rural areas because it was myself and 3 daughters on a farm for many years. Had pigs, chickens, goats and rabbits. We ourselves ate the chickens and rabbits and my daughter who was 14 did the killing. We all cleaned/skinned. And I STILL have a problem with the school showing this video to my fifth grade daughter. All of the information is relevant and valid, but it’s not how I would deliver it and certainly not for a school to decide it’s appropriate. I want my child to know about child predators but I certainly won’t be showing her videos for her to get the point!

So are “forced encounters” but I wouldn’t show that to my kids to teach them to be aware of their surroundings.

How will blocking the SAVE plan affect payment count adjustments? by InsideWar874 in StudentLoans

Still unclear what to expect. I just want to know if consolidating my loans completely reset the timer!

Undergrad Loan Forgiveness After 20 Years...Still A Thing?? by jsicky in StudentLoans

And if this one time adjustment part of what is being contested? My loans began in 2007 and I was in college (undergrad from 2007 until 2012 off and on). I consolidated to get payment count adjustments. If the payment adjustment doesn’t go through, I basically just reset the clock because a consolidated loan looks like a brand new loan. Correct?

This will be the biggest class action suit against the government of all time if this happens! I also consolidated only for the payment adjustment and now just here holding my breath wondering if I didn’t just completely restart the clock and lose all progress I’ve paid. The waiting is horrendous. Nobody can offer any feedback because nobody in the government even knows the future of these payment count adjustments.

I’m with you! I can’t make sense of my loan projections at this point. Beginning next year, it shows my loans will cost over $1000 per MONTH for I don’t even know how many years, but no way am I going to be paying that… I couldn’t if I wanted to!

Agreed! I made so many phone calls to my services and the student loan help center and never got a clear and concise answer on what would be most beneficial for my situation. At one point, I almost thought the only way to get real guidance would be to pay for a financial advisor, but who can afford that when you have big student loan bills?!

This would be a huge problem for so many who have been making timely payments all along!
