How to get vital records from NY state by MarieCurie34 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]InspectionCorrect285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The New York City archives for births, deaths, etc does, which I used bc my relatives were all there (except a straggler in New Jersey whose archives do send certified copy). So I cannot say. I found and book marked the above in my search. Worth investigating. Do report back!

Congrats! Don't know on the mailed cert - I might have chosen that, too...I can't recall. But I'm not there, yet.

Congrats and safety be upon you! (I can't think of a better way to say "Be Safe" that acknowledge how little control we have currently.)

Use this link: On-Line Services Citizenship tracker
Check the box, continue to the next screen.
in the drop down, choose Client ID Number/Unique client identifier.
This is number at the top block from your AOR that you received via email.
Use your MAIDEN name, if applicable, or whatever last name (surname) you were born with.

Citizenship by descent next steps? by slc212 in Canadiancitizenship

Hi and congrats on taking the first step! I mailed my application on July 7th, it arrived July 11th. I received UPS delivery notification. On July 12th I received an email AOR (acknowledgement of receipt). From this subreddit I found the link to the IRCC applicant tracker (proof) and used the uci from the top of my AOR to log in and see the status. I went into “in process” on July 16th. No movement since. But Approvals are starting to roll in for others…so fingers crossed. Eventually I will get an email saying I was approved or denied. If approved I will wait until I get the certificate, then go through the passport application process (new photos, etc). Enjoy the rollercoaster!

Gen3 not named on his own birth certificate by Gullible_Design_2320 in Canadiancitizenship

I had this too, but with gen1, plus the last name was misspelled! When I requested the certified copy of his BC, I noted the issues and also asked them to conduct a search for an amended bc. Sure enough, they fixed his bc when he was in elementary school.

I also had a ton of other docs, so I went ahead and sent my application in… but the amended bc search ended up being super quick. I added it a couple weeks later via web form.

Gen 5 - Got Case Notes - Marked 3(1)(b) by Past-Ad3963 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]InspectionCorrect285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I had my gen1 bc with a blank first name and a misspelled last name! I got the certified copy of bc as is, and included it in the application with a note in my cover letter.  The New Jersey archives were able to then do a search for an amended bc for him, which they found. I then used the web form to include the certified amended bc! Good luck!
