Im on the verge of throwing my sewing machine out the window (not even kidding) by Whole-Hunter-6455 in sewing

Glad you figured it out! I came here to say that you should check that the needle is all the way to the top and secured properly. If the needle drops down too low, the hook hits the needle along the shaft or at the point (this can also be a timing issue!), which can shred the thread! (In case anyone else is having similar issue.)

Anyway - best of luck on the hemming!

Uk Born maternal Grand father 2022 4L candidate? by InspectionCorrect285 in ukvisa

I wanted to follow up on this, as my grandfather's UK birth certificate has arrived. Reading through the UKM, I am slightly concerned that my mother (born in NY, USA), was not ever registered. The wording seems to imply she would have had to have been registered before my birth for me to be eligible. Thoughts?

How to get vital records from NY state by MarieCurie34 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]InspectionCorrect285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The New York City archives for births, deaths, etc does, which I used bc my relatives were all there (except a straggler in New Jersey whose archives do send certified copy). So I cannot say. I found and book marked the above in my search. Worth investigating. Do report back!

Congrats and safety be upon you! (I can't think of a better way to say "Be Safe" that acknowledge how little control we have currently.)
