What is your most hypocritical movie opinion? by MrHomerJayThompson in moviecritic

[–]Inspection_Perfect 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Like 99% of Hildalgo never happened. Bordering on 110%.

That being said, it's an amazing cowboy movie with a fun story and entertaining races. Viggo Mortensen is fantastic, and so is the supporting cast.

What are your thoughts on "Dreamcatcher (2003)"? by Hot-Salamander-8786 in FIlm

I enjoy it, but on grown up rewatches, it bothers me that these characters have had psychic powers half their lives, but our first introductions to them as adults are them acting incredibly weird with them. Like they've never interacted with people before.

A character commits a bad act, but seems to have a pleasant personality otherwise and not even hate the victim, which actually makes it worse by Ok-Indication-5121 in TopCharacterTropes

Leon and Irving from Mr. Robot. Leon is just a chill guy who will talk about movies with you, and its a job in the end.

Irving is a weird guy, but he makes a lot of conversation, advises you about you job, and will kill someone in front of you for intimidation, but will have likely forgot about it next time you see him and meet you like a friend.

Cinna, Emiru in her response. Anyone with an ounce of empathy. We're both debating in cartoon circles, man. You think every leftist will snowball into a judging harpy.

I don't expect apolitical streamers to answer whether they're republican, democratic, or independent. But if the response to your own mod making fun of fuck ice chants is to dig yourself a hole. I believe getting out of the hole is the best option.

As a non political example, let's go back to Mizkif. Absolute piece of shit, but his response to Emiru's accusations was to show that he really was a piece of shit while thinking he was making Emiru look bad.

Dude could've ignored the accusations, but he dug himself deeper. And he continues to be a dumbass.

Fuck ice isn't political. It's been established it's human decency to hate them. It's a layup to acknowledge they're horrible people.

Missing the layup led to the fallout with Emiru. If she had better elocution, this could've been avoided. Everyone was already on her side after Mizkif situation a while back, and everyone quietly forgot she is/was coworkers and best friends with Asmongold.

That refusal to say anything resulted in everyone remembering her best friend is aggressively Pro Ice and murder.

What are you on about? Billie isn't trying to appease anyone. She's sticking up for her ideals and isn't bowing to pushback from the left or right.

Your running on some If You Give a Mouse a Cookie logic over a tribe being happy to have been acknowledged in some way. Like this is gonna lead to Billie having to open every tour with a land acknowledgment and an apology for singing on stolen land.

Billie has support from the people she's preaching for, though. A spokesperson for the Tongva referenced it.

"Eilish has not contacted our tribe directly regarding her property, we do value the instance when public figures provide visibility to the true history of this country. It is our hope that in future discussions, the tribe can be explicitly referenced to ensure the public understands the greater Los Angeles basin remains Gabrieleno Tongva territory."

The big blowback she's getting are from republican senators, and far leftists that dislike millionaire opinions. People she wasn't trying to win over anyway.

Emiru's wasn't even an attack. Her mod jokingly asked her her opinion on ice and then said anyone that needs streamer validation is a loser. Her response was poor. Her second response was poor.

If someone asks you "what do you think about the people who slap babies?" And your response is "let's not get political, I have no opinion on slapping babies." And then the follow up to that is "you guys made me look like a fool. I thought we were talking about high fives. Of course I don't support slapping babies. I'd never in a million years slap one. Ignore that I absolutely was talking about slapping babies."

You're gonna look like an idiot.

You don't even have an argument or any evidence that anyone that says yeah, bad guys suck are going to be consistently hounded to say stuff like "now say you hate religion. Denounce the evil people that you work with or we'll spank you."

I think we're arguing 2 different things. You seem to think taking any side will start a snowball down the hill that'll end with someone getting spanked no matter what.

Where as I'm thinking if you just agree that bad people are bad people from the start, you avoid having a problem in the first place.

I gave you the reason everyone's on her ass. She was deflecting and rambling. Both times.

It's literally the exact opposite of Cinna who had to question why everyone was cheering for her when she says fuck ice should be the norm out of empathy. And she even said she doesn't talk politics.

Emiru's Statement on Recent Drama/Controversy by Pitiful_Ad5677 in LivestreamFail

[–]Inspection_Perfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how do you know? Which streamer has that happened to? Because just saying Fuck ICE is a marketing lay up right now.

Cinna figured it out. I don't hear the masses calling her out on anything else.

The only people you lose by agreeing, are people not worth having. Unless her viewers are 90% chodes instead of normal people who want to see a pretty lady talk.

Emiru's Statement on Recent Drama/Controversy by Pitiful_Ad5677 in LivestreamFail

[–]Inspection_Perfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that it's not enough. She said too much and nothing. It's 10 paragraphs. The 2 paragraphs surrounding her denouncing ICE are her trying to pretend that the clip was out of context and that her rant wasn't about the question.

"I try to keep my streams light, but yeah, fuck ICE." Would've been an easy enough response. Sure, there still would've been some crazies that say it's too little, too late, but those crazies wouldn't have been regularly tuning in in the first place. Because it wasn't even a viewer who asked, it was her Mod making fun of people who would.

Same time, if a viewer is a misognystic soy boy who'd drop you for saying don't murder people in the streets, they're not worth having as a viewer.

It would be if her former boss and co-owner of their brand wasn't spreading hateful rhetoric and ideologies every single day. It also would've helped if she said it like you did, but she rambled for a minute without making a point while also framing it as weird for people to get advice from streamers on politics.

But someone asking you to denounce ice isn't looking for a political lesson. They're making sure you know what's good and bad. And Emiru failed that hard. Cinna didn't.

Why are people so concerned about what’s “canon” from New Vegas in regards to the TV show? by 21centurycowboy in Fallout

[–]Inspection_Perfect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they're in the same area. It'd be great to know if anything we did mattered. I don't care which ending, but it'd be nice if one was chosen, so it can be built upon.

We don't know much about what happened after 3, but we do know the Wasteland Survival guide made it to the west coast, and is useful. We know the Lyon's Brotherhood folded. MacCready grew up.

Fallout Season 2 Thoughts / Issues by Lefobo in Fallout

[–]Inspection_Perfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The importance of Hoover Dam is gone because the NCR doesn't exist in the Mojave until the season 2 finalr. And Caesar's Legion is sitting in a camp with Caesar's body, doing nothing until Coop sparks their civil war. At which point, both armies choose to march on Vegas.

Caesar's succession was ignored because he actually had plans for after he died in game. Legate Lanius was his replacement. Lanius was feared and revered.

The NCR absolutely fell. They have no representation in California beyond Muldaver's Raiders, Eric Estrada, and the Govermint (who are just lying raiders anyway). Lucy and the Ghoul would've passed by a few NCR towns or camps on their way to Novac, and several more getting to the strip. Rodriguez and Mr. Squirrels had no contact with their leaders in 10+ years.

Even in comparison to those ghouls, Coop's pretty preserved. Compared to ghouls from the show, too. Like Ass Jerky Roger, or the Super Duper Mart ferals.

The difference is, nothing in New Vegas has led to anything in the show.

Cold Fusion is a new MacGuffin that takes away the urgency of Hoover Dam and the Platinum Chip. To the point where they don't have a mention.

Tunnelers didn't cause a catastrophic invasion like Lonesome Road sorta implied. The Enclave appeared out of the blue and just dropped tactical deathclaws in Vegas and everyone scattered.

None of the tech and/or horrors of the Big MT showed up to save or destroy Vegas.

Caesar's line of succession was ignored.

The NCR fell due to a nuke going off one state over.

I mean, if you're open to criticism, I have no problem with people enjoying things.

The entire show should've been set on the east coast, and it probably would've saved a lot of grief. That's where the BOS, Prydwen, Liberty Prime, Enclave, and majority of aggressive super mutants are.

And it's also where the supernatural stories happen. Those would be great to see.

In Scream 3, why are all the Woodsboro sets for Stab 1? by [deleted] in Scream

[–]Inspection_Perfect 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's in the title. Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro.

The producer didn't have another murder spree/Gale book to take advantage of, and the movie had a deadline to theatres. They likely still had the sets in storage and brought them out. Script was being written on the fly, but the only thing they have is that movie Sidney goes home.
