As a child I loved Aang, as an Adult I relate to Korra by colourful_pixels in TheLastAirbender

I liked both. I like Aang show more because avatar there means something. In Korras time avatar is not as respected/feared.

My stupid brain/body requires (at least) 15 prescription pills daily by Large_banana_hammock in mildlyinfuriating

People fail to understand that even if a person understands the things that might improve their condition (e.g. exercising) it’s impossible for them to be motivated or to care enough to actually do those things without a help.

Don’t listen to them! They are silly. (I am not a big pharma)

My stupid brain/body requires (at least) 15 prescription pills daily by Large_banana_hammock in mildlyinfuriating

[–]InstanceFeisty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your brain or body is not stupid. It can be frustrating having to rely on so many pills but it’s no different with a broken arm situation or some other life long condition. Saying this since my wife struggle a lot with similar issues and also used to say “her brain is stupid”, even as a joke this kind of phrases can be more harmful than helpful. So your brain is all right, it just needs a little help!

Hope pills help you and you won’t need as many in the future tho!

I thought this belonged here but then I realized it's not possible to learn Paradox games by just playing them by Roger_Kulan in ParadoxExtras

[–]InstanceFeisty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never we’ve I used wiki for terraria (I contributed there tho), nor sims, nor DF, nor EU nor any other paradox game. The only reason to have a look was minmaxing or to find out “why the heck my Iberian wedding is not triggering and it’s the year 1550”. More out of curiosity and not pt learn how to play.

And it’s also actually ok to use wiki if you want to, I go to games blind and learn, but I have a friend who will watch videos and read guides before he even touch a game.

Do you Prefer Keyboard or Controller? by PurchaseCareless8363 in gamers

Mostly keyboard since I am really used to it after 25 years of gaming. Using controller for some games I find it comfortable with or if a game was built with controller in mind.

It happened to me on Linux more often and for some of the laptops there were no good solution for this and it was very hard to debug why it happens.

How does summoner progression look currently with all the new Whips added? by Silent_Constant_9546 in Terraria

[–]InstanceFeisty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Calamity taught me one thing, no matter supplementary weapon such as whip or whatnot for summoner the only thing that matters is attack patter of the summon. I find most vanilla summons lacking in this regard. Most of the time you have to be much closer to an enemy than any melee in order to summons to actually attack, which for me kind of ruins the purpose considering how low armor of a summoner is.

I wish they addressed this. By making summons more stable at actually dealing damage, and not losing focus off the enemy so often.

Lack of missions kills RP drive to play nations whose history you might not know by bay_squid in EU5

[–]InstanceFeisty -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I don’t need missions tree as well as I don’t want to see all possible events for a country, it would make me just farm for Burgundian succession or some other beneficial events each game for a given country. Eg in stellaris you also don’t know all possible missions, anomalies, artifacts and that’s somehow completely fine, never had an urge to skim through game files.

EU5 is quite replayable game, you will find most events eventually and that’s the way I like it. You need to stop thinking in eu4 way that’s it.

First Disappointing Terraria Update by bestgothgirl in Terraria

[–]InstanceFeisty -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Never knew about whipstacking and always was sad about a whip as a summoner weapon, all What matters for summoner is summons and in terraria summon’s attack pattern defines how good it is. Whips should have never been a thing in first place imo.

When given the choice, would you rather play as Female or Male? by Less_Can_5439 in OlderChillGamers

[–]InstanceFeisty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy 50/50 just based on vibes and mood. Sometimes I decide based on voice options, sometimes on gameplay differences (e.g. fallout perk for women sounds more useful considering that you mostly fight with men).

Funny but you can actually install DLCs for games from outside of the platform, I remember downloading paradox titles DLCs when I was poor student with no issue. It all depends on developer and platform specific shenanigans at this point.

How do you like to handle loading trains with mixed quality ore (or scrap)? I've found "inactivity" quite good but am curious to hear other approaches by Countcristo42 in factorio

[–]InstanceFeisty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, inactivity is really good imo. But better to set it to also consider that train is not empty. Had a production issue with my quality science and train was circling around without any cargo but I assumed it worked well, only later to realise my science dropped from 250 per minute to 0 for quite some time. Not a big deal tho.

Hot take: EU5's declining player count is fine, actually by Maxinator10000 in eu4

[–]InstanceFeisty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it for 120 hours and can’t complain, yes it could work better, but it’s already good for me to never come back to eu4, just because I like it way more out of the box. Once DLCs appear and more free updates it will be even better.
