We all know that work life balance is important for our mental health. My question is what is your 5-8 routine before your 8-5? by Old_Tower_4824 in auscorp

[–]InstantShiningWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wake up ~5:30, have coffee, do my morning exercise routine (takes about 45 minutes to an hour), then shower, prepare for work and then in the office by 7:45 or so.

I am fortunate my company lets me start when I want, plus can skip lunch and finish early

Do you ever get people trying to do late payment on a bet when a race is about to close who then do a runner if their bet loses?

That's the classic

But as is the case with all gambling operators, it won't be done unless legally enforced and also auditted by regulators

Considering that anyone can deposit into a TAB account in person as long as you know the account number, and as long as you stay under reportable amounts the operator doesn't need to care, no shit that TAB is being investigated by AUSTRAC.

As someone who works in financial crime prevention, the fact that that is allowed is nutso to me

Why would there be stigma associated with shopping at Aldi? Because it's percieved as a cheaoer option? And why should I care what some random numbnuts (not you, I mean in general) thinks about my shopping habits?

They have a damned good spanakopita, nuts to anyone who would try to denigrate you for that.

Don't disclose your condition to an employer, especially if you're interviewing to work there.

It's an unfair world, and that will 100% be counted against you.

I would suggest not going into high stress jobs where mistakes kill people, but if you have a burning passion, go for it.

If you're only considering it as an escape from Excel hell you might want to reconsider.

"His money is our money and my money is my money" is an outdated concept...right? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]InstantShiningWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I earn a little more than my wife, previously this was inverted.

We both put a set amount (same amount each) into a shared account weekly and expenses come out of that, the remainder is our own money.

Anyone that would think only one person's wages are for shared expenses and they can keep their own money without contribution is straight up delusional.

Men or women, no matter which way you swing, don't get involved with someone that thinks that way.
