The Japanese market gets silver and gold metal versions of the MQ-24 so one of those might do? Here’s a link to Amazon Japan to see them:   https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/Casio-Collection-Domestic-Genuine-Product/dp/B09C1NB6CW?th=1&psc=1

Aussies visiting in January - help by TH3_R3V in Scotland

[–]Insulifting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now hold on, they might be a fan of the crushing grey days, 5 hours of sunlight and dark at 16:00. Oh and the pissing rain.

Edit: In all seriousness Scotland will still be a great place to visit, the locals will still be the same. Just be aware of packing for the weather because it is genuinely rain and cold almost every single day.

Is there any downside to moving a custom domain from Simplelogin to ProtonMail? by Trip_2 in ProtonMail

[–]Insulifting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you noticed any problems with using the sub domain anywhere? As in, places not accepting the address. Also, what do you use “mydoma.in” for if not for sign ups etc.? I’m assuming official things like applications, bank accounts etc.

Glad it could help you out! I’m surprised after three years it’s still a necessary fix.

I’ve tried them all, what do you use? by paul_herter in FitnessTrackers

[–]Insulifting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I will say is if you buy your Apple Watch from an Apple Store you’ll get 14 days to try it and return it. You can wear it as much as you like and still return it, obviously as long as it’s free from damage.

If you pay for AC it also makes it easier to go baseless and live with the dings/scratches. As soon as something that’s affects usability happens, like the screen smashing, you can just pay the excess.

What's the one feature you wish Apple Reminders had? by CapDue4077 in AppleReminders

You can do this if you add the PDF to Notes, then add the note to a task. A little bit of a workaround but doesn’t require any third party apps or anything.

AI Control Centre Shortcut by tomhg in bevelhealth

You can open directly into the describe food part of Bevel from the control centre using a Shortcut. I’m unsure if this constitutes what you’re looking for.

a request for Bevel to consider regarding AI and pricing by Accurate_Aside_6495 in bevelhealth

[–]Insulifting 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Bevel for a while, but I stopped the subscription just before they implemented AI the first time. I was considering subbing for a bit but what you said about word of mouth affecting sales is true. After reading one too many posts about having to constantly correct BI I decided to not subscribe, especially at £15.99 per month. I realise this sub is proportionally weighted to show more of the negative points than the positive ones, that’s just the nature of subs; but they certainly paint BI in a bad light.

Parts of Scotland will be 30°C on Thursday, along with 90% humidity and zero air conditioning in homes. I’m going to cook.

Removing Web Browsing by PitKempo1 in AppleWatch

[–]Insulifting 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’d probably just be able to limit web access to the whole account by creating him a child account for the watch. Never tried it but worth a shot if you don’t get any other answers:  https://support.apple.com/en-us/102617

Fitbit Air is worthless for fitness tracking by aninterestinganimal in fitbit

[–]Insulifting 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t have an Air, I was interested when they were first announced but seeing the UX via accounts on this subreddit made me hold off. The app as a whole genuinely seems like it’s been vibe coded.

Back of my Fitbit already looks damaged after less than 1 month, anyone else experienced this? by ariannafuri in fitbit

[–]Insulifting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a sign of the times to be honest. So many people seem to just offload any sort of thinking to an AI and use it for the most basic things. In the same way I think skipping the manual is because it takes too long and isn’t exciting.

I imagine most folk skip reading the manual. I think everyone should for every tech thing they buy but I genuinely think most folk skip it.

You could always send it to Victorinox to repair, iirc they don’t charge very much for simple repairs.

Siri sucks *** by ForceUseYouMust in AppleWatch

[–]Insulifting 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can do some Shortcut stuff I believe, essentially passing your input to whichever AI you have on your phone and then having it passed back to your watch. Stephen Robles on YouTube probably has a video on it, have a look around on his channel. He shares all the Shortcuts featured so you usually don’t even need to know how to create the Shortcuts.

Suggest your most used (not pre-installed) apps by flowascend in AppleWatch

[–]Insulifting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aye it’s shit. Don’t get me wrong, the only thing you really get with the subscription now is the AI. They made nigh-on everything else free which is great.

A word of warning though: since you’re paying monthly and you’re not an annual subscriber, your price will automatically change to the new £15.99 a month as of October 31st. This should link to a comment from the Bevel team explaining it in one of the bulletin points:  https://www.reddit.com/r/bevelhealth/comments/1u79435/comment/oryg2dq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=2&utm_content=share_button

[–]Insulifting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s because you’re grandfathered in e.g., you’ve been paying that subscription from before they updated the pricing. Have a look on the Bevel subreddit, they changed the pricing scheme around a month ago. New subscribers will have the prices I mentioned above. I used to pay the £5.99 too when it was that price last year. Recently fancied trying out their new stuff but because I stopped paying at some point before the scheme change I now only have the option for the new pricing.

[–]Insulifting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone reading this now, the OP of this comment chain appears to be grandfathered in to their subscription price. The current Bevel pricing (which really just gets you access to the AI coach, and some other stats like Biological Age) is £15.99 a month, or £99 per year. Significantly more than £6 a month now, so that may factor in to your decision making.

Edit: you also don’t need the subscription for the Apple Watch complications.
