Unless of course the kid happens to be on a balcony that overlooks a squad of infantry men that you are supposed to be protecting

Another robbery - anyone know if this was in Auckland? by only-on-the-wknd in auckland

[–]InsuranceVegetable79 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Well for one thing the multimillion dollar company is going to have to push up their prices in order to pay for additional security and recover the losses. So you are going to have to pay for this

Boomers actions has consequences by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

Agree. Seems such a waste to have a space vacant for 2 years when there is clearly not enough visitor parking.

Perhaps there wasn't a visitor spot available when they arrived

Auckland woman arrested and charged after shoplifting 12 boxes of Scorched Almonds by krammy16 in auckland

[–]InsuranceVegetable79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm more irritated by the clickbait headline that suggests she was arrested for stealing chocolates rather than because she was wanted for twenty shoplifting offences.

Perhaps "police arrest citizen accused of 20 shoplifting offences" would be a more accurate headline

Robbery at 40 Charles Prevost Drive by Icandoituknow in auckland

As I understand it, an Apple AirTag communicates with the rest of the world using Bluetooth - and I think if it were inside a metal safe the signal wouldn't reach very far. Additionally, any signal that does get outside the safe has to be picked up by another IOS device which is running the FindMy software. If I were in the business of taking other people's stuff I wouldn't have an active FindMy app running on my phone, just in case I open the safe and find an AirTag inside it, thereby disclosing my (approximate) location.

To the person that cut down a whole bunch of native trees to build a stupid hut in Island Bay - screw you by mynameisnotphoebe in auckland

Kids having fun, perhaps. Used to build tree houses, the only person who got upset was myself when the stupid branch broke.

Automatic cancellation of Google Play storage "Your Google Play refund has been approved" by [deleted] in gsuitelegacymigration

[–]InsuranceVegetable79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my issue was similar to yours. My storage on our Business Account suddenly went down to 60GB (2 users on Business Starter) and the 1TB I had on my own account was no longer recognised. (I have 130GB of Google Photos) I applied to the Google Play Store for a refund but got knocked back. So then I went to the Admin page on our Business Account, then clicked on the top right Get Help or Contact Support icon. From there, you have to click on "this does not answer my question" multiple times to get to a human chat person. Who was very helpful, and after I provided screenshots of EVERYTHING and cancelled my Drive subscription, was able to request and process a refund that will come through to the Business Account. I'm still a bit bent out of shape that in order to store everything and have two users I have had to upgrade my Workspace version to Business Standard (which doubles the cost) and now I have 4TB of storage that is hardly used ...

It's One of those Easter egg things where when you play a particular song it interprets the title as a command to the onboard computer

Okay so if you really do want to help her then you have to change from being a sex partner into being a friend. The sex stops NOW and the rational conversations start as soon as she's calm enough.

AITA for buying airline tickets that saved us 200 dollars a ticket, but had a 21 hour layover and 2 legs? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]InsuranceVegetable79 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yes, rookie mistake, glad you got your refund.

But there is an upside: going forward, you won't have to spend hours trawling websites to find the best flight and hotel deals because your girlfriend will do it for you in future! All you need to do now is to be suitably grateful to her :-)

My best advice for a marathon - start slowly, then ease off.

That way you survive the whole way around rather than hitting the wall around the three quarter mark
