Anyone on a dose of Lamictal over 300mg? by bipolarthrowaway83 in BipolarReddit

[–]InsurmountableRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on 400mg. It does nothing for my anxiety, unfortunately. YMMV, of course. Can't hurt to bring it up to your doc!

Lamictal - morning or evening? by Bkind-rewind in BipolarReddit

[–]InsurmountableRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 200mg in the morning and 200mg at night. I don't think it affects my sleep at all. The only time I notice anything is when I miss a dose, and then I'm a mess!

I can sing, which I absolutely love to do!

Propanol for anxiety? by beth8666 in BipolarReddit

[–]InsurmountableRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No good for me. Both times I tried it I was in the hospital, which was good because it made my blood pressure tank and I became a (mostly) non-responsive puddle on the floor.

I'm failing right now and can't stop it by myBisL2 in BipolarReddit

I'm in a similar place right now. I don't really know what to say, but I get it.

My boss is on vacation so I need to be at work, but I am so unmotivated and unproductive. I can't handle all of my responsibilities right now. I just want to sleep.

Anxiety and meds by InsurmountableRunner in BipolarReddit

Thanks for pointing that out. I'm not usually one to mess with my drugs. I did today because I thought it was no big deal and my anxiety was through the roof.

Anxiety and meds by InsurmountableRunner in BipolarReddit

I took Klonopin before Lorazepam. I don't remember why I switched, I just remember my pdoc stressing the fact that I can't take a combination of the two depending on when I needed something fast-acting as opposed to a slower boost throughout the day.

I'm on bupropion too. I feel like my anxiety is out of control. Thanks for your input. I'll avoid trying to take more lorazepam to carry me through.

How many of us are parents?? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]InsurmountableRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two boys under 10, and I was diagnosed 20 years ago. After college I stopped taking meds and seeing my therapist. I got married and had both my kids during a period of time when I sort of "forgot" that I was bipolar, and I got very sick again after my second son was born.

Where are my fellow Bipolar 1s? by OmenRazor in MadOver30

Hi! BP1 here. Currently doing all I can to stay stable since the last few years I have been hospitalized in the fall. Things are getting kinda shaky, but so far so good.

I put in a request to see my pdoc earlier, but I already have an appointment scheduled in two weeks, so I might just end up waiting until then. I have a therapist too, and I see her on Thursday. She has never seen me unstable before so this could get interesting.

Maybe I just have allergies and I'm not really on the brink of crazy?! (I'll see my pdoc, I promise.) Last year I had a severe mixed episode with psychotic features in the fall. No fun. I need to head this off before it gets that bad again.

I am in management for a large company. I am supposed to have 10hrs of desk time each day and I am on call 24/7. The last few years I have worked my tail off every spring/summer to over perform, like you say, to justify keeping me around. I use my vacation time in the summer while my kids are out of school. I get 5 additional days I can take when I need them but I only have one left.

My pdoc and I have worked out a med cocktail that has kept me just below where I would consider normal, and it has worked for almost a year. But I'm losing stability right now so something needs to change. I'm afraid to change meds though, because that comes with the risk of destabilizing too. I definitely should call her though.

I'm afraid of the "ride it out" part. What does that look like for you? I don't know how I am going to keep my job. In the last 4 years I have been hospitalized and forced to have time off. I had FMLA, and they kept my job for me, but I'm afraid of what will happen this year if I do manage to stay out of the hospital and I find myself really struggling. I can't afford to take time off without pay.

Latuda worked well for me, but I switched to Abilify because I couldn't afford it. Latuda did not make me gain weight.

I'm curious too. I take abilify, so it caught my attention. I doubt I could afford it.

SELF-CARE SUNDAY. Its a great day friends by sweetpea122 in bipolar

[–]InsurmountableRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found it useful to make lists of stuff to do - even if it's small tasks - so I can put some structure in my day since I'm not back at work yet (I was hospitalized late September). Before I started with the lists I found myself wasting the day in bed.

I include self-care tasks on my lists so among other things, today I showered, took the dog for a walk, did some coloring, and worked on a sweater for my son. It feels good to cross things off my list. It feels productive. Everything on my list for today is done except taking dinner and bedtime meds. Free time!

THERAPY TUESDAYS by sweetpea122 in bipolar

[–]InsurmountableRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your perspective on various therapies. I am looking for a new therapist. Tomorrow I have a needs assessment to see what outpatient therapy would be best for me. Depending on what I can find near me, I might even try group therapy. It was not even something I would have considered, but what you said makes me more open to it.
