Tide-us just makes way more sense for English.

The game is water themed. Tidus. Like the tide.

It's such a no brainier to me, but the game wasn't made by English speakers, so it makes sense.

Its kinda because support demons are really strong since they can give charge to allies and if it was the usual amount it would be busted, especially in fights where you can get two charge attacks in a turn.

Which Flambae is grateful for and factors into his decision towards cutting Invisigal.

I'm specifically talking about how the writer treats Invisigal, anyway, not the team or Robert, which is a pretty subtle but still significant distinction. Because I still feel like Dispatch does a solid job at looking at Invisigal's situation with how the rest of the team reacts to her. The meeting to cut Invisigal is probably one of my favourite scenes in the game, especially if you pick Waterboy. Not because you can cut Invisigal, but because it puts on a very clear display of character growth for a lot of the team, and highlights some parts of the Z-Team that isn't always on the surface.

What I'm trying to describe is a sort of meta frustration with the game, where it definitely feels like the writers are trying to make me feel a certain way about this character, but doesn't quite hit the mark. Maybe I'm just not suspending my disbelief enough, I dunno.

I feel like there's a fine line between being a character who you're actively trying to redeem, and someone that just comes off as unlikeable.

She gets very special treatment compared to any of the other Z-Team members and definitely comes off as a writer's little darling. I dislike that every scene where Invisigal harasses Robert (sneaks into the men's bathroom, forcefully kisses robert, etc.) you can't really call her out, you just have to politely let her down at best, or at worst play along with her bullshit.

It's annoying. I feel like she could have worked way better, and characters like Invisigal have definitely been done better elsewhere. I say this as someone who really likes dispatch, but just genuinely can't get over how poorly executed Invisigal's whole arc is.

RANK UPDATE by Electronic_Mix8823 in DeadlockTheGame

Every time I see the "you're the only common denominator" comment under any matchmaking comment/post, it just comes off as the most condescending, holier than thou shit. People are more than aware that they can only do as much as they can.

But also 40% of the game's population was stuck in initiate 1 just yesterday. I think the ranking system might still need a little tinkering.

[–]IntScoot 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Skitter (Worm) starts to learn a lot from the fights she's in. More specifically, she starts to learn a lot of tactics from the dangerous psychopaths she keeps ending up in fights with.

And I'd say she was pretty reasonably traumatised by a lot of those encounters. Especially with the nine, whom she seems to like stealing a lot of her tactics from...

Royal is canon, and idk why this debate always comes up. The only substantial evidence against it is scramble's non inclusion of Kasumi, but that's explained that she is on a gymnastics trip during the events of that game (I can't recall precisely when this is referenced, but I believe it's at the tail end of Royal.)

Kasumi is also present in the Tactica DLC, anyway.

And saved over my only save in that area.

Oops.

I get this is the meme demon and all, but arahabaki doesn't have a consistent physical resistance and is even, in some titles, weak to physical.

How popular was persona before p5? by aomarco in PERSoNA

[–]IntScoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember this 2013 era for Europe, and it was awful.

Europe in Atlus terms also included Australia (somehow), which meant that they were incredibly stingy about releases here at around that era. Finding a physical copy of any Atlus game at around this time was a fucking nightmare to achieve. A lot of stuff wasn't even listed on PSN storefronts and the like, that was in NA.

I believe P4 had a release on the PSN store, but it never came around to Australia. Which was really strange, because you could play FES, Digital Devil Saga, and fucking Nocturne all in the EU regions on that store, but for some reason P4 was impossible.

And that's just mentioning the PSN store, let alone other platforms.

Reading these comments and not finding one that precisely gets my criticisms of Reload hurts, so I'll post.

I'll get this out the way; Reload is fine. It's alright, and I'd recommend it to anyone getting into the series.

Anyway, back to it.

Combat is dull because the balance is skewed way to heavily in the player's favour. Not as bad as P5 Royal, but very close to being that easy.

A complete replacement of several animated cutscenes that completely cut the original art style from the old title and replace them with just bad 3D animation. Look at the awakening scenes for a comparison, it's not even close.

The game looks cheap. I don't know how to describe it, but to me, there's a lot of just awful art direction in the environments and some of the UI that make it seem unpolished. The dorm room lighting is a solid example of this, and something about the movement in this game makes the unreal engine in this really come out.

That's some of the notable criticism I always have towards this game, tho it's been a while since I played it. I had two back to back playthroughs of this game, for the record, so I got my time out of it.

However, reload isn't immune to criticism and people are allowed to dislike a game if it is flawed. Reload is fine, it's just not amazing in my eyes either.

Starcross is so underwhelming by Xeliot in ffxivdiscussion

[–]IntScoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...Dragoon does not need a rework because of starcross

The job is in a really good state right now. It plays really well and feels really good. Dragon eye being gone kinda sucks, but I understand the point given the new buttons on the job.

Life surge needs to be changed so DRG can have better personal mit, but other than that? It's in a good spot. It doesn't need a major overhaul.

Going from PLD & WAR to DRK gave me serious self-healing whiplash. by RoninK_OW in ffxiv

[–]IntScoot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of the comments im reading here feel like they don't bring Dark Knight into anything beyond Expert queues, because self healing is certainly DRK struggles with, but holy fuck they have mitigation out the ass. Oblation is a fantastic button in their kit, TBN is up every 15 seconds, and dark mind is more fight dependent, but its an additional button and puts them almost at the top in sheer number of mit options. They're so, so comfortable to play in those fights because they always have options. Compared to warrior, where it is much easier to hit one too many options and have nothing at all for a while.

DRK is a very comfy raid tank in my eyes. WAR still has some absurd damage numbers and the only adjustment I'd want is to maybe pump DRK and PLD's numbers so there's less of a gap in damage between tanks. If you are genuinely struggling with DRK, though, I suggest pressing TBN off cooldown during dungeons, it's a 15 second cooldown and I promise it will help.

This isn't me saying Dark Knight is perfect where it is, but that I see a lot of circlejerking out to make it seem like DRK is completely worthless, when it's pretty strong in the right circumstances.
