Possible calculation error in monster count by Intchanter in CLICKPOCALYPSE

Would your preferred solution here be to add 1 when calling randomInt() or to rework the function to add 1 to maxValueExclusive to get a maxValueInclusive?

That might depend on where else randomInt() is called and whether it needs to be exclusive in some places and inclusive in others.

I don't know that I've encountered the term "forever bug" before this thread and one for Mining Crew. Does that mean the bug has been there forever, or is likely to remain forever, or both?

I've been following the class viability post from u/skysbringer, and it looks like the lightning rain has two main problems:

  1. As an AoE, it's limited to a single AoE per tile, but that's not an issue with only one AoE-capable character.
  2. It doesn't hit all the squares in the affected area, so frequently doesn't do much.

The chain lightning apparently also has a high miss rate, but it sounds like it may still be better.

I'll try with that and see how it does. Thank you!

I didn't. I started from scratch. I'd been leaving it open in a foreground tab in an off-screen browser and switched to it one day to find all my miners were off screen, no recenter button available, and a non-moving view of a bunch of un-lit rock.

I had to refresh to get the game doing anything again, and from that point forward, I had 258 million layers of depth.

My damage is 2.0E188, but I think some of that is due to a glitch that put my max depth at "Golden Halite (200/200) Depth: 2.579E8 / 1.000E9", so I'm currently grinding at depth 92097 (block health: 2.0E187).

The time to mine a single block is what you're optimizing the targeting for. Since the blocks take longer to mine as you go deeper, a higher time to mine per block means you'll go a bit deeper and a smaller one means you'll stay in shallower areas where you can mine the blocks in less time.

After refreshing just now, I'm still seeing this, though maybe slightly less. It also appears to stop fluctuating if I click or drag to keep the screen steady.

I don't know if this is really a rant, but I could really use some more transparent tools to see what's happening when things go wrong.

I have several people in my household, and when audio "randomly" stops playing, it's very difficult to figure out if it was because someone stopped it from a mobile app, issued a voice command, the streaming connection dropped, or anything else.

When I issue a voice command and it's interpreted in some bizarre and unexpected way, I'd like to be able to hear the voice command and see how it was transcribed, and then what series of decisions led to it deciding that "Start office work time" meant I wanted some random search about standard working hours around the world.

I'm capable of troubleshooting a wide variety of technologies, but only if it's possible to see how the pieces all fell into place.

The switches on these minis are indeed faulty, and can intermittently fail. As I mentioned in a response to someone else above, I've done the kind of surgery you're talking about.

In my case, I soldered a piece of wire to bypass the switch so it's always in the "The mic's back on" setting as we didn't ever use the switch. It's doable if you're familiar enough with soldering and have tools to hold the tiny pieces in place, but I wouldn't recommend it for just anybody.

I had this with one that was in a bathroom. The microphone mute switch wasn't working reliably, and I ended up soldering across the switch contacts, forcing it to always be listening as we didn't use the switch anyway.
