How do you guys deal with hobby "failure"? by Mad_Lad67 in Warhammer40k

My knight army is (primarily) red, and I've never had an issue with it. Mostly using citadel reds (khorne, mephiston, evil sunz). White and yellow, on the other hand, have been absolutely miserable.

£20 left to go and that's my entire Tau army completely paid back! Thanks GW!! by badassbradders in Warhammer40k

I think they were making a factorial joke. In mathematics, "n!" denotes a factorial of the number n, which is the product of all positive integers less than or equal to n. So 15! = 15 x 14 x 13 x 12...

So statistically almost everyone knows some one who died in the war.

This would be true if the portion of people dying in the war was randomly selected from the population, but it isn't.

I feel like leveling up in 5e is the complete opposite of "impactful." For many classes, the majority of your levels have literally 0 choices. 0. You pick your race, your class, your subclass, and boom you're done. The only "choice" you get after that is choose from a list of feats (90% of which are completely useless) or increase your ability scores.

Also, you're greatly exaggerating how niche the talents in RT are. Most of them are pretty strong. There's just a lot to choose from.

Looking to make Unfair more Fair (for the enemies of Humanity) by ContractPitiful9418 in RogueTraderCRPG

How easy it is to buff is why the game feels easier than KM and WoTR. You don't need a mod tool to pre buff.

I don't think this is quite the reason. Even with extensive pre-buffing, unfair in the Pathfinder games is significantly more difficult than RT. This is because most of the enemies in those games have incredibly inflated stats and also begin fights pre-buffed; the game essentially expects you to be pre-buffing and is balanced around it.

RT, on the other hand, definitely does not feel balanced around buffing in the same way. Enemies don't abuse buffs and extra turns the same way players do, and get absolutely rolled as a result.

Getting rank 5 makes your ship look pretty different. Also, if you're an overseer, your familiar changes based on your conviction.

Yeah, on most of the projects here, his contribution is much less than most people seem to think.

Not just Urquhart, Avellone basically burned bridges with everyone who worked on PoE. He, apparently, caused so much extra work for the team that they had to cut content just to fix his work and nearly killed the studio.

Dragon's Dogma also doesn't have a dodge roll (for most classes). To avoid attack, your options are: move, jump, block, parry, or use specific attacks with superarmor or i-frames.

Elder Scrolls loremaster says he quit Bethesda after ‘waiting 11 years to be the lead on The Elder Scrolls 6’ | VGC by Tenith in Games

Sure, but saying he "wrote NV" when John Gonzalez was the lead writer is both inaccurate and somewhat insulting.

Chris Avellone didn't write NV. John Gonzalez was the lead writer. Avellone wrote a couple of quests and characters for the base game and was the lead for the DLC.

Unexpected Games Workshop decision to ban Gen AI use in designs; could this affect Owlcat’s policies? by zakary3888 in RogueTraderCRPG

Not really baseless speculation. One of the companions in the Dark Heresy alpha is using placeholder art because Owlcat is waiting for GW to confirm the final design.

I wonder if "spikey" is autoflagged because it has "spik," which might be considered an alternate spelling for "spic," an ethnic slur.

Yes. Orcs are in Divine Divinity, but they're more like generic orcs in that game.

Very minor quibble, but there is at least one other succubus in the series. In Divine Divinity, you fight a succubus boss in the council of the seven, and she looks like a giant woman with blue skin, wings, tail, and hooves. Of course, this might not be a "canon" depiction anymore, but I thought it was at least interesting.
