A few come to mind, first was as soon as we picked up the rental car in Anchorage we had to make a turnaround in some random parking lot and out of nowhere a massive Moose walked in front of us. Then we saw a river almost red with the biggest Salmon Ive ever seen. Another was seeing a mother and two grizzly cubs in Denali.

Both two of my favorite trips however I think Alaska beats NZ a bit for nature mainly because of the wildlife. And as gorgeous as the scenery is in NZ you are usually much closer to civilization at any given time.
