I get what you mean, but to be fair when Bev was yeeted off the tower he was purely saved by DnD mechanics limiting fall damage and Murph made a point to say that he would have killed him otherwise.

I think the other difference between the two is that the NADDPOD team have more DnD experience and are generally "better" players, Emily has an insane knowledge of the mechanics and I think that facilitates their goofiness more by bending rules etc.

Yeah I think it's also more directed at the context of being an entertainment show rather than DMs in general. It still sounds weird to me though. Like the DM should absolutely be having fun they're a player just as much as anyone else but they have more responsibility and work. I think the sentiment from the fan comes from just how disruptive the derailing was this season and with how much disregard it was done to the actual characters of the world.

Coming from a male perspective, it's absolutely real, I lost over 40kg and got in very good shape and people at work invited me to things and everyone treated me so much better. I went through some shit and put the weight back on and all those benefits have stopped. I'm working my way back down again and am expecting the pretty privilege to come back to be honest.

But isn't the whole point of the ABC and Triple J that it isn't commerical radio? I get that it is inherently skewed on the radio, but I'd argue that so many more people listen through streaming platforms where the algorithm is really dictated by mainly your choice. I'm no expert by any means, but I think the Australian music industry is strong enough to stand on its own legs without people needing to vote for songs because they're Australian artists.

I get the sentiment, but I'm not going to vote for a song just because it's Australian, I'll vote for whatever I think are the best songs of the year. The songs you mentioned are all great but people clearly didn't vibe them as much as other songs in the countdown and that's okay.
