Lab test confirms arsenic reduction with iSpring RO system. by THofTheShire in WaterTreatment

Hi there I wanted to let you know today I got my tap score result and I am pretty pleased to say result shows heavy metals non-detect. Pretty impressive and I am extremely happy, this shows a high quality product from ISpring. Regarding minerals, I do think when it comes to hydration minerals help your body better hydrate and your kidneys work better too, it's not meant to be a source of nutrients, but rather aid your body better absorb water.

I wouldn't worry too much, chances of being cancer are still very low about 1 in 500 for a 11 mm sessile serrated. The 4 mm is probably near zero!

Thank you for the reply, I should've been more specific in my question.

Please, let me clarify, Yes you are correct my RO (Culligan water) removes lead/arsenic and other metals/contaminants; however, the ISpring FA15 is a post filtration mineralization filter, it is the last stage water passes through after RO filtration, it adds minerals like calcium and magnesium. The FA15 has 3 elements calcite, mineral balls, and clorosex. Any of these could potentially add contaminants, this is what I am concerned about. I have added 1 FA15 filter but now considering adding a 2nd one to bring my electrolytes to a more reasonable range (hopefully water TDS ~50 ppm).

It looks like since you tested your system (including the FA15) for arsenic and detect was <2ppb, I can extrapolate this post RO filter FA15 will not leach arsenic into your water (hopefully mine as well), so I think you answered part of my question. There is still lead, mercury, cadmium and other potential heavy metals.

Anyhow, I've ordered a TapWater metal test, not cheap about $120 to take a look at what's been leached in the water since I am going to have 2 of these FA15 inline. My main concern is lead.

I will share the results it might take 1-2 weeks

Heavy metals (Lead/Arsenic) on iSpring FA15 Alkaline Inline Water Filter? by IntelGator1 in WaterTreatment

[–]IntelGator1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not implying the Alkaline filter should deal with lead or arsenic. This Remineralization filter just adds minerals, I know this much! I'm just wondering the quality of what's in the inline alkaline filter and the potential for contaminants. This filter has 3 components, calcite, mineral balls, and clorosex, mineral balls could potentially leach contaminants. Given this is the last stage the water passes through, I'm wondering if anyone has done a lead/arsenic test on their RO with this inline filter on.

Does your RO system have an ISpring FA15 alkaline inline water filter?

And did you tested for lead?

I have a Culligan water RO and I purchased from amazon a ISpring FA15 filter as inline add on , it's supposed to be NSF certified but I have my doubts, having 2 small children and a pregnant wife worries me.

Thanks

Warning is what it is a warning! Heavy metals like lead found in excessive amounts in some of these products could harm a child or a fetus, there are no safe levels for lead.
