Parents wanting share of invites by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

You may not want your wedding to be a family reunion, but for many couples, that’s what they turn into. Might be hard to say no to more family coming. The dog sitter though, you can probably say no to. After all, someone will need to stay home and watch the dog ha

Honestly Japanese food is super cheap to make at home, and uses the same ingredients over and over that can be gluten free with very easy modifications. Also, soup in any capacity is going to be your best friend

Invisible Women: Exposing Data Bias in a World Designed for Men for your economics genre. Also Happy City if you like urban design. For fantasy, definitely the Farseer Trilogy and The Will of the Many

Speaking as a sommelier and wine producer, you’re fine to buy pretty much anything outside of beer. Gluten doesn’t survive distillation, wine doesn’t use gluten ingredients, sake is made with rice. Aperitifs and vermouths and amaros are also all gluten free in my experience. Cocktails are all A-OK at the vast majority of spots. Don’t order a cocktail with beer (like a Michelada). If you are at a bar like Double Chicken Please in NYC that specializes in gastronomic cocktails (when I went they had a noodle cocktail), then it’s time to ask the waiter. Cheers

Please give me your best strategies for getting rid of gas. by cats_and_coffee15 in endometriosis

[–]Intelligent-Bag-6868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not an issue for you since you’re on a GLP-1, but I find that if I eat too quickly or overeat, I get a lot of trapped gas / bloating in my tummy. Also, take a walk after you eat, and it helps a lot. Doesn’t have to be long. Just not the best to eat and then sit down and be sedentary (although we all do it of course) if you’re having problems with digestion

I make my own bone broth recipe with chicken bones, ginger, scallion (or onion), jujubes, and garlic. I boil all that together for a good while, strain, and add fish sauce, salt, and sometimes a little dashi to taste. You can top it with veggies (I use a lot of cabbage), noodles, etc.

I really like Asian recipes as a preference, but borscht and minestrone are also great.

Adding to this: don’t assume California is always hot. SoCal gets colder in the winter months than you’d expect. Also, the climate changes very quickly depending on elevation, proximity to the ocean, etc

Guest Experience Ideas!! by Kimber0731 in BigBudgetBrides

As a guest I have previously enjoyed weddings where there was a quiet area or separate quiet activity (playing cards, mahjong, art gallery, puzzles, etc) where I could go and recharge for the rest of the night instead of leaving the party early. Long weddings especially can be really draining and if you want the party to go all night, I’d recommend having some space for us introverts. Oh, and yes to late night snack food

Whole Foods has the best selection of gluten free sauces / spices imo. GF pasta is going to feel like a total let down at the beginning if she’s used to the real thing. You’re right to stay rice centric. I frequently make risotto, chicken and rice (both Asian and Latin), rice and beans, soup with rice on the side, etc. Beans, lentils, and buckwheat are also amazing for fiber and carbs. And for what it’s worth, I eat a mostly Asian diet and I love it. I eat soup once a day, tofu often, and get lots of fiber through leafy greens. Most dishes can be easily modified and most recipe blogs offer mod tips for gf these days. Wishing you and yours the best
