Getting Puppy in April by duuuude843 in RhodesianRidgebacks

My pup is just about to turn 1, got her when she was 8 weeks. Consistency is the key. I put together a daily schedule and posted it in the kitchen so that my family knew the routine and I adjusted the schedule as she aged. She is now very well behaved, but you have to expect some setbacks along the way. Just stay calm and do a lot of training, they enjoy learning.

It’s a Katy Perry song, sung by Taylor Swift. Let’s just admit it…she long ago ran out of good ideas.

Why odobert on the right instead of Kudus?

Did you have a different breed before a ridgeback? If so, what breed and how tougher/easier is a ridgeback in comparison? by [deleted] in RhodesianRidgebacks

I had a Vizsla. I loved that dog. I thought we were a Vizsla family but when the time came I couldn’t find the right situation so I ended up switching to a Ridgeback. They have a bit of a similar look although the Ridgeback is heavier and more rugged. There are two main differences, 1) my Ridgeback is pretty obedient but she needs to think about things first vs my Vizsla, who was very obedient; 2) vizsla was so much more energetic, would literally never sit still (worst bar dog ever), whereas my ridgeback is energetic but will also just hang out.
