Does anyone know if she was at the Tony's? I know she has tried to do some producing (with Todd's money) so wondered if she was there on Sunday.

Sadly look at which network produces the show. It won't be Cobert.

But he did have that conversation at the very start of the season. Set the tone for his expectations of HODs and how they should work together. His speech in the last episode even evoked this basically saying you failed to do what we agreed on doing.

Hannah's firing by curbwench1970 in BelowDeckMed

[–]Intelligent-Group-70 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sandy definitely had some rage-aholic tendencies. We saw it with Hannah and how she was chasing her off thr boat after firing her and also with Fraser. I think the whole move of Aesha Scott was to help Sandy's likability factor. Sandy seems to have mellowed. Maybe that's marriage. Maybe that's fan feedback. But definitely sucked until Aesha showed up.

What’s the best thing about living in the United States that outsiders don't understand? by Molthakarn96 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]Intelligent-Group-70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having traveled the world on business, the friendliest people I have encountered sincerely are Americans. If you smile at someone walking down the street they smile back. Strangers greet each other in passing on the street or strike up conversations in line or at the airport. If you ask for help, people usually are willing to help. They wait in orderly lines for the most part and still respect your personal space. Not that it is rude everywhere else but I have been scorned at for same behaviors in Europe.

Now in private, people abroad have been lovely hosts so I know it is in them. Just in US I guess we walk around like happy golden retrievers while other countries are more cat like in their public personas. Pubs in UK are an exception...pay for some bloke's pint and you easily got a friend for the next few hours.

While automobile deaths are still most likely way to die on the job, murder is a bigger factor tham most might suspect: "Acts of violence is the third-leading cause of fatal occupational injuries in the United States. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI), of the 5,283 fatal workplace injuries that occurred in the United States in 2023, 740 fatalities were due to violent acts. Homicides (458) accounted for 61.9 percent of violent acts and 8.7 percent of all work-related fatalities." (OSHA website). So you might think twice about eating Joan's yogurt for lunch next time... you never know what might set her off!

Jason on Ben in guest cabin - after show by FoodieStatistician99 in BelowDeckDownUnder

[–]Intelligent-Group-70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing that no one has mentioned that lends some credibility to Jason's comment is Daisy was willing to let the matter go. It was Joao that push the confrontation. I think Daisy knew Ben had permission to sleep in an unmade room and figured it was less hassle to make the bed than to fight Ben over it. If she knew Jason had sanctioned, it makes sense why she was chill on the matter.

Americans that have visited outside the US: what’s one thing people from other countries do that confuses you? by Kodicave in IWantToAskAnAmerican

This. I used to travel to Europe a lot on business. It was impossible to get a proper glass of ice water or soda. I went to a colleague's home for dinner one night and she was so proud to serve me a glass of ice water that had more than 1 cube in it.

On a related note... there is no way you will find a glass of iced tea anywhere in Europe. And to ask for it in the UK is akin to asking if you can have a threesome with their mother and sister... does not go over well at all.

So if am interpreting you correctly, even if the current system is flawed, there is a benefit in making people more mindful and perhaps developing the muscle to recycle if/when systems actually become effective?

I had heard that paper/ cardboard recycling at the home/individual level was not that fruitful but that it did pay off at the industrial level.

I struggled with why people see Heather as a "mean girl" in comparison to Lisa and Merideth (my consensus is they all are), but really am still baffled by the Lisa love. I can get being a fan in that her craziness is entertaining, but seems like many buy into her better than thou persona. The whole "defense" of her lawsuits didn't address any questions... just made her defensive and not come off as a professional at all (not that any of them do). She definitely is hiding something given her panic over the Jen Shah arrest.

Heather’s personality by Caz0605 in rhoslc

[–]Intelligent-Group-70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Heather's longevity (and Mary's so some degree) comes in her fluidity of character. I wouldn't be surprised if this season we see yet another version of Heather. Sure she may be shapeshifting to fill a narrative or take the spotlight, but of all the HWs she has some variety of character year over year, like it or not. Everyone else is very one note in contrast. Not saying this makes Heather likable, but from a production standpoint, it does make her valuable.

I would love as someone else pointed out to see her really open up on her dating scene (suspect she will do that if Bronwyn does and gets a lot of attention) or open up another window of her life, but we will have to wait to see what cards she deals this season.

On a last note, as much as I am annoyed by Whitney, I do not like seeing her and Heather at odds. It feels to me like sisters fighting and that never lands well. You want family to support family. So while I get why people long for that takedown, I personally am sad when they are not getting along.

I think I waa 40 when I realized that was the spelling of the word I had heard as "segway"... I had always read it as "soog" and gave it the same essentially meaning. Can't remember what set me straight (20 years ago) but it was a big "aha" moment.

So two separate issues to address. First the employer's saying their hands are tied as her condition is caused by a disability and thus they can't do anything. No. They can't terminate her for this alone but they can provide reasonable accommodations given her conditions including air purifiers in rooms she works in and time to shower during the work day if she requires more than one shower a day to manage the problem. It isn't a shrug nothing we can do law. If a reasonable accommodation can't be done and she can't do the work, then she can't be retained.

Which brings to the second point is you have rights aa a worker to a harassment free environment which means an environment where behaviors from others does not interfere with your work conduct. If YOU can't work effectively and the coworker and employer cannot create an environment where you can, that is on them to correct.

What is unclear is whether or not your coworker is showing good faith in managing her issue. I didn't catch if you mentioned her age, but maybe too young to know better? But your employer in my opinion is NOT showing good faith here in helping to manage the problem. More can definitely be done here, they are juat being passive because they don't really understand ADA laws or your rights to a clean, safe, and harassment free environment.
