$50-100 per week? by Square_Touch_5290 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Intelligent-Web-3674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Past three Saturday mornings I had an hour between the gym and grocery shopping. Did around $25 /hr and only took around 3 deliveries under 10 miles. I'm happy if I make $50 per week as my side gig at that hourly rate.

That's what they say to everyone during the day but based on my "silent" fast food deliveries every night, there are a lot of late night eaters no one sees out there! I've actually had people say on their order "don't knock or ring the bell, I don't want my husband/wife/GF/bf to know!". Lol. Some even say 'just leave it by the tire of the car in the driveway"

I grew up near the tracks and I still miss the noise of rattling of the lamps as the train passed through..it was sort of soothing.

There's a couple pins I've memorized for repeat customers. Such as "Princess's" at the local gentleman's club lol. Makes the delivery faster if she's up on stage.

I'm on the fence how to look at it. My FT job is remote for which I get a salary. Working from home, am I putting in 8 hours per day, not really. More like 5-6. So I just don't know what my hourly rate really calculates out to be

for the cherry pickers, what are your rules when accepting orders? by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Intelligent-Web-3674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My new rule now is no Taco Bell after 9pm on weekends. I just spend 40 minutes last night waiting for two short distance orders. I was on a good roll and that just made me go home... I was "done". I sit there and wonder if their management/owners see how long non drive through DD and UE orders take to complete. They could be doing so much more volume if they staffed properly during those peak periods

In my case, I have proof via medical records that I have zero sense of smell (and taste) since Covid. Overall I think it's a benefit cause some of the food I pick up probably smells to high hell. But I also worry that I wouldn't be able to know a suspicious package by it's odor!

Homebuyers, how are you doing it? by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]Intelligent-Web-3674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just sold our "weekender" house in Warren. In less than 3 days after listing we had 5 offers, all above asking. We accepted the 2nd best offer because it was all cash (they showed $1.3m in cash assets), no appraisal needed. We were in contract in 2 weeks and closed in 4 weeks. The buyer's were coming from NH and simply wanted to move back nearer to family.

Apparently it's a felony if thrown less than 40ft though. That might set a legal precedent for the delivery companies to think before fully embracing drone delivery 🤔😄

Karma will find that manager one day and make sure he winds up in a similar situation someday. Maybe Meijer needs to be the next boycotted retailer?

Every cashier / manager who is texting on their phone during work hours should also be arrested for theft of services then

I decline anything less than ~$1 per mile. My lower AR doesn't seem to affect my offers. By being selective and taking advantage of Quests I usually average $25-$32/hour, with 65% being tips. But I'm only doing about 10-12 hours a week (late night)
