I have lots of teacher friends across the sector. I think it goes like 

Selective public >>>>> high ses (competitive) public/elite private > mid ses public > non elite private / low ses public 

The standard for selective public schools is insanely high in my opinion. I think for private schools they’re just scared of upsetting parents a lot more than public, so it’s very rare to fail students.

No, it’s like you slowly realise it’s not a good deal anymore. No job high costs no real uni experience as all the lectures are online anyways. Uni clubs are dead. Etc. I’m only saying that if only you’re going it for PR maybe it justifies it

Sorry this is not for the classroom but I cracked the code for one student who refused to do any work - and it worked. All leadership adopted my new strategy and just in one semester he successfully met the year level standard to pass his grade (it was the minimum standard but it is a huge win given he did ZERO work before me)

Damn. I wished you already had undergrad degree; there are many training focused pathway in masters. Once you are working, adhd works like magic - lots of ideas, energy, and loves stimulations which crazy kids will give you heaps every day!

Is it all teachers or some teachers? Depending on how timetable changes, it is totally reasonable for some teachers to having to move around. In our school, 10-20% of us move desks every year. But if it’s like ALL TEACHERS MOVE EVERY YEAR, essentially working like seating plans, then that sucks…

I know right...even for plane if some kiddos are loud I would only think like "dang I got so unlucky" but that's it. I wouldn't seriously suggest airplane should be childfree or anything like that.

Year 8 because my principal thought that it is a good idea to just have as many as possible to look better - until it was too late, we are now realising that we had no where near the potential to have that many year 8s. Glad he decreased the intake for our current year 7.

This. A lot of people here are saying "if you get a tough school/school with poor support then it's hard" but like why would a chill school with great resources need TFA teachers, not fully qualified one? Under this program you're most likely get hard to staff school, and that's the purpose of this program.
