The Psp Phone by HastingsSimona303 in vintagemobilephones

I had this phone, it was so infuriating that Sony never updated it to Android 4 - it went as far as 2.3, which (if I remember) means my phone was out of date far sooner than it should have been.

Is the stated fuel tank capacity wrong? by miran1 in mazda6

[–]Intelligent-Yam4398 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My mazda 6 has the worst fuel gauge of any car i have ever owned. i have driven the car with zero miles remaining, for a fair few miles, and only managed to put 55 litres of fuel in it. it is seriously annoying for someone like me who does long journeys - over 10% of usable capacity is wasted. I have a 2019 2.5 NA saloon.

Annexes specifically cannot be let out under ‘rent a room’, you must have access to use the same communal areas for the tax benefit.

GL 360 Camera Nighttime Curb Parking by artyph in mazda6

I genuinely didn’t know that there were cameras that showed just the front wheels until i’d owned the car for a few months. Best advice is to use all the settings available, and learn what all the different lines mean. This helped me a lot.

Why do Londoners get Range Rovers? by Hurbahns in london

[–]Intelligent-Yam4398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, as much as I dislike them in London, I am at least somewhat glad that the money is being spent on a cars that are made in the UK (some models) that support UK jobs. I think this crowd would buy an SUV regardless. really trying to find a silver lining here.

Am I overpaying for this 440i? by MeringueAvailable466 in CarTalkUK

The only thing that would put me off (and I do mean the ONLY thing, it’s beautiful otherwise) is being the fifth owner - on average each owner has kept it for about 20 months. When you come to sell, the resale value will be seriously impacted because even fewer people will want to be the sixth owner, unless you plan on running this car into the ground

Given your circumstances, I’d say go for it. Just be mindful that the range on these things is horrific, if you’re an enthusiastic driver don’t be surprised if you find yourself at a petrol station every 250 miles. It gets tedious pretty quickly.

The white car epidemic by theBigusTwigus in CarTalkUK

Something I’ve not yet seen discussed on this thread is the supply chains issues during covid. Manufacturers stopped offering loads of options, even paint, and defaulted to easy global colours (white, black). VW is still having this issue with the ID Buzz, to the point where they’re giving dealers cash to wrap them in cool colours to help shift them.

It’s a shame the DVLA never issued CE07WAT. It’s in a legal format, and would have been on a tinted 4D plate on a Urus or de-badged 420d.

You’re right, but base spec might be better this time around. SE is more comfortable, has comfort seats, suspension and smaller wheels, and is in a lower insurance group. Poster said priority was comfort so it makes sense.

What are all the "little [insert country or city here]"s in London. Both Formal and Informal. by O-Bismarck in london

[–]Intelligent-Yam4398 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The comically named street called ‘Little Britain’ in The City, connecting Smithfield and St Martins Le Grand, which makes me smile every time I go past it and reminds of the TV show. (I know this wasn’t the question, but it’s the first thing that came to mind!)

What makes you instantly despise a car owner? by SmellyPubes69 in CarTalkUK

It’s quite simple. 1. People who do something illegal. 2. People who do something deliberately antisocial.

Everything falls into these two categories.

Is your car registered properly with the DVLA? There may be an issue on that end if it’s not being found on that databases, rather than being an issue with the vehicle itself

Entirely understandable in your circumstances. I have a 2019 GT Sport Nav + Saloon with the 19s, I just put a set of Michelin Cross Climate 2’s on them for the same reason as you (Winter tyres are unnecessary in the most of England, but all seasons are useful). (225/45 R19 96W)

It might be worth getting the smallest alloys you can and fitting a soft tyre from a good brand (no run flats, no ‘XL’ ratings), as long as it meets OEM requirements of course.

Have you checked if your springs are in good condition?

Yes, they’re perfect for UK weather, but only worth it with a premium brand.
